I think the biggest problem - aside from the varying valid reasons people have listed above - is the people of Kingston don’t think of Ks as their local team anymore. We are out of sight, out of mind. Hopefully RPV is a step in the right direction in that regard but simply playing a few miles closer won’t massively move the dial on its own. We simply have to be more proactive.

Happy to be corrected on any of this, but to my knowledge there are no posters anywhere in Kingston advertising the club, where we play, or who/when we’re playing. The club don’t appear to have an email mailing list to keep floating fans in the loop (I still regularly get emails from several clubs we visited in the Covid era, having bought tickets online), There is no longer any effort made to engage local students in either coming to games or volunteering at the club. Equally are we in schools?

We make it very easy for potential fans to forget about us.

Was the current chairman originally not elevated to the board with the remit of improving how the club markets itself? Genuine question…
