This is my most local club - it's less than a mile from my house - so I've followed these shenanigans reasonably closely, and I know a couple of the volunteers there particularly well. A lot of it is depressingly familiar, as can be seen in this article.

I guess one big difference is that Paul - chairman at Farsley - is both the chief contributor to the mess but also significantly personally invested financially to resolve it (and therefore most out of pocket when it goes wrong). Whereas our chairman is the last standing chief contributor to our mess, but using other people's money to prop himself up. I don't really know how much that matters; board incompetence at finding a ground in the locale is quite clearly common here (there are *so* many clubs locally who could have hosted, but FCFC board have rubbed them all up the wrong way for one reason or another, including with one club thinking they should have some divine right to play there. Familiar?)

Broken record I know, but it didn't need to be like this, for either club.

At least the intention of the board at Farsley is to play in Farsley, I guess. One saving grace there, which is where we also differ.
