How do we enforce change?

Short answer: we can't. Despite what OSK says below about it being "our club" it is currently owned and controlled by the Board. They offered a fans buyout once - but we said no. Unless another white knight like Jimmy Cochrane comes to our/their rescue then all we can do is boycott home games, which many people are already doing.

I have some sympathy with them if the playing budget has been slashed this year because of the oft-rumoured financial problems affecting their companies. But that doesn't excuse some very poor decision-making over the years about where we play.

The Board need a plan to get us out of this mess. If we get relegated a couple of times whilst still playing outside of the Borough, I think we'll cease to exist.

“They offered us a fan buy out once and we said no”.

Leave it out Rex!!! They offered to sell the fans a bag of magic beans. There was zero transparency on the financial side. Only idiots would’ve signed up for that. It’s a bit off to suggest it was a coherent, genuine, transparent offer.

Some I know voted in favour seeing the vote as a first step in find out more details.
What had been noticeable by its absence is unlike some other clubs in peril ,no one willing to get a grouping of supporters to put forward united views, publicise Ks plight.
If any have it's been underwhelming.

because we can't go bust, this will be a long drawn out decline.

the wombles money will keep going on ground shares until 2028 at least.

might be two leagues down and playing to 50 people, but people can still claim to have run the club in a financially stable way.

because we operate outside of anything like the market

this amount of money we have in the bank which can only be spent on ground or renting a ground means even if we had crowds of 50 we’d still be able to pay the rent

I dare say this money has meant we’ve not worried so much about sponsorship and the like and meant we’ve taken our eye off marketing ideas while busy thinking of the wording of emails to council

Yes, the Wombles capital could keep us going until 2028, technically.

But if revenues continues to fall, and performances continue to get worse, and attendances continue to decline, then there's only one outcome. After that, it's purely a matter of semantics - how do we define "cease to exist"? When we're playing to crowds of less than 20 in the Southern Combination League?

Rex having moved down to West Sussex,if Ks ended up in the south of the borough,my following of East Preston has been good. Football might leave something to be desired at times but more than made up by the friendliness of clubs.
They certainly value those who come along and watch

65.5 million years, a meteor reckoned to be "miles wide" crashed into the earth at Chicxulub and wiped out the dinosaurs. That was an "extinction level event".

Yesterday, a meteor reckoned to be 50-100 feet wide, narrowly missed the earth, passing in between us and the moon. Had it struck earth, it would have been a "city-killer" event. A bit like when AFCW struck Kingston.

I don’t agree about the budget cuts being necessary as nothing is being done to raise funds or attract new sponsors especially as Banquet were allegedly turned away and not even offered any other type of opportunity.

We are relying on the goodwill of the supporters club to sponsor matches rather than have any type of marketing strategy.

There’s no direction, no ideas and no communication.

I would happily be fan owned if we were in the combined counties league and playing in the Kingston area. At least we could have frequent ideas on how to take the club forward.

Yes this is a negative post but we witnessing the decline of our club.

On a positive note I brought my neighbour and his son for the 2nd home game in a row. They enjoying being amongst the Ks faithful. I try and bring my two boys to games whenever I have them too. At least I’m trying!

Now, come on, be fair. Yesterday’s game was sponsored by… the tea bar.

Why shouldn't a match be sponsored in the name of the tea bar? It's all money going in the club. A nice present. Previous complaint on this forum was about SC sponsoring balls, so what exactly do you want.

If not, where is that money going?
If so, isn’t this sponsorship meaningless?

So this is extra sponsorship from the people who provide the support for, and run, and created the tea bar,
OR maybe someone who is sponsoring anonymously in the name of tea bar rather than their own name/s,

Money inwards is never meaningless, Beds!

it's not about what anybody wants; it's about what the club needs: commercial revenue coming in from businesses or organisations not already linked to the club. And there is none.

Enforcing change has always proved difficult in any part of life but in football as well.
It is our club long after the incompetent board has gone but how do we get control to run ourselves or just replacing what we presently have.
I guess we can only wait now in our anger and frustations for the season end and then to make sure this awfull so called hierachy moves on.
I wonder where the SC is in all this.
