There’s probably some people who are a little worried that mates/associates of Glenn Tamplin are getting involved.

I've no idea what connection Glen Tamplin has with Surrey Steels, but at least we
have a main sponsor.

Some clubs take their time with player announcements. Apart from ourselves Wingate and Finchley, Horsham and Chatham whereas others have been very active with player announcements. I think it maybe to do with registration date and until that date players can change their minds It is probable that we have players lined up but awaiting rubber stamp of registration which I assume is month end.

Players can change their mind at any point with seven days' notice, we still always named signings in May and June. It never used to be a problem (Joe Turner literally the only example I can think of) until last season, when loads of our pre-season signings got pinched before we even started.

Clearly what's changed now is the budget being so poor because of Mitcham. So either we haven't signed anyone because we're at the back of the queue; or we have but we're terrified of getting gazumped if we name them.

Non-contracted players can change their minds with 7 days notice … though i have no idea how many contracted players Ks would have these days…

With 7 days notice at least the club is aware and can talk to the player. Without 7 day notice that opportunity is probably not there. The reasons for no announcements that you give maybe right , or perhaps managers preference. Horsham haven’t made any announcements and there must be other reasons as I am sure they are not under budget constraints. Similarly with Chatham. Unless you are in the know then a speculative conclusion but not saying you are wrong.

Yes, speculative for sure and different clubs will have their own reasons. With a fast approaching early bird deadline for season tickets though, if there's any positive player news it would be strange to keep it quiet beyond next week (unless we're worried about being gazumped).

Not sure player new will make much difference to season tickets. We have the Hayden experience of game changers Walter Figuera and Alex Addai. Team blend and changing room atmosphere are probably more pivotal in how the season pans out than name players

Not sure player new will make much difference to season tickets

Well this is true, I know of quite a few people who aren’t renewing and reasons obviously run much deeper than expectations about how good the team will be.

Nonetheless, some positive news wouldn’t hurt. No-one expects (big) names but 11 players with CVs to give some confidence they can hack it at this level would at least be a welcome improvement on last season. Team spirit will be best served by keeping a consistent team together not by another rotating cast of short term loans, glorified trialists and work experience kids.

On the subject of kit anybody want a decent away kit for this season? Not green what about a two blue hoops design.

Yes, good idea. Quite a few of us have voiced a preference for
our away strip to be light blue/dark blue hoops over the years.
In our Conference days, the club seemed to establish a preference for the yellow shirt and blue shorts in the 'Brazil' style. Not sure many of us like the Green shirts/blue shorts away strip, but we did win a few games wearing it!
