Supporters Club Committee

“Directors have far more to lose than us fans, who can just walk, they’ve put thousands in.”
For anyone not on Facebook, this was posted today on the Kingstonian Supporters Club Facebook page by a member of the Supporters Club committee. Instead of challenging the board for their poor decisions, they simp for them. They think we, as supporters, many of us spending most of our lives supporting this club, spending our money, time, passion, the highs, the lows is not as important as a failed investment of “thousands” in loans. The we can just “walk” away. As a supporters club committee, they do not even understand the passion in supporting our local football club and they actually believe it’s insignificant to a financial loss. I’ve been all around the country supporting this club and spent more than “thousands”. We don’t just “walk” and true supporters will know that. Would be nice to have a supporters club committee who are formed of real supporters working on behalf of the supporters.
On a separate, unrelated note; it’s the Supporters Club AGM on Friday. The AGM is a chance to vote for a new committee.

Have not some 'true supporters',walked away?
Some have posted on here as to why and don't they seem fully justified?
Is not the answer for some of those who share your views to join the SC and try to bring about change from the inside?

May have been poorly worded but you conveniently cut out your rudeness including calling me a lackey and so on. I was trying to express that although emotionally painful, weve not put in the same money as the directors not bound by any contract. You also are very welcome to nominate and join supporters committee where you will find many invisible jobs to do. See you friday

Very poorly worded. Or, likely, that’s how you feel. You feel we can just walk away. You look down on supporters who criticise the poor decisions of directors. You consistently post comments to negate justified criticism of the directors. You use your position on the Supporters Club committee to get close to the directors and ignore the very real fears of true supporters. You think they have more to lose because they have loaned the club money. The wording may have been poor, but your sentiments showed. And you get upset that I call you a “lackey”. Well, you know the phrase about walking like a duck?

Walk away? I wonder if that’s what happened to those who were previously involved in/followed Carshalton/Leatherhead/Sutton. Did they just walk away and pitch up at Ks? Then have the audacity to criticise us when we are raising concerns about our only club’s existence!

Oh for the days when the Board were a Board of Directors and a Supporters Club was a band of guys bought together by fellow supporters to "assist" the Board and to support the manager in any needs the club couldn't provide but to concentrate on away day travel
Simples really but it keeps coming up.
Directors are generally Directors of many compAnne's and registered atrademarks Companies House as it is a business.
Supporters Club is an elected band of hard working people taken from various walks of life.Nice and easy but the problem then exists when the Supporters don't represent the people they are elected to represent and think they are a separate branch of the Board and go in a direction they were never designed to do.
The difficulty now in this awfull financial climate the country has been pushed into is to get people to join the SC with all it entails while trying to maintain ones family and work commitments.

I think it’s quite likely many have spent tens of thousands of pounds following or supporting Kingstonian.
what’s the threshold of where it matters?

One thing that became very clear during KBH negotiations is that each Director very much expects to ultimately get their Directors' loans back in full (the FA Cup money under Bird was one means, for example, as would be any future player sale) and, in addition, expect payment for their shares if they were to ever depart. Sponsorship and loans from companies to which the Directors are connected also have tax advantages. These are not philanthropists.
I think the TIME directors have put in over the years is a more reliable and persuasive metric. But, then again, that also depends on time being used well, to the benefit rather than the ongoing detriment of the club.

Don't worry, they have had their money well back, they are running this club on the. Gate money, plus ,they are not. Puttin anything in just steadily using AFC money, wonder who the million pound creditor will be this year,it certainly won't be the previous owner Jim Cochrane they made every excuse possible to not repay his loans ,which.were in the thousands.

Well if you don't stand and don't vote you won't get a new committee.

If you look at the Club accounts though Directors loans were approx. 150K in 2017 just before we left KM. In 2021 it doesn't list directors loans but in Creditors due in more than 1 year it has grown to over 1m. I'd have a lot more sympathy for this view if it was clear why the creditors amount has grown so much.

It's a round about way of nicking the AFC money ,their loans were repaid in 2016 when they sold the 7 year remainder of our playing arraignment for the 200,000 pounds backhander.
