Was really impressed with the radio tonight. Great work whoever is behind it. Hope they can keep up the enthusiasm throughout the season.

Sounded like D'Sane was a handful but that Lewes class came through in second half.

Definitely not as bad a first week as feared.

… apart from losing both games and already being in the relegation zone.

Mind you a desperate battle to avoid relegation is the height of our ambitions.

At this stage last season, we had drawn both of our opening games, both of which we should have won, as I remember. Great goal from Eddie to give us an unexpected lead after
25mins. Lewes had wasted a number of chances up to then.
Was pleased to go in level at HT.
The difference in quality and experience was all too evident at the start of the 2nd half when Lewes took control. Game was over at 1-3. Think the manager should have gambled and put Somo on earlier in the 2nd half. Scoring a second goal quickly
was the only way we were going to stay in the game.
On the positive side, we created chances for ourselves and wev'e played a couple of fancied contenders in our opening two games. We will, once again be looking at getting our points from clubs from mid table down for survival. A poor home attendance too, such a shame.

Think it's going to be hard to know where we stand after the first three games - we got tanked in each of the three corresponding fixtures last year. Suddenly though Wingate could feel like a pretty big game just four games in.

Also, players wearing numbers that don't correspond to positions + numbers that are hard to read = nightmare.

The Guardian had some articles under the heading 'forgotten history of football ',one was the disquiet about introduction of number shirts. Some felt it was dumbing down as it made it too easy for spectators to understand positions. Interesting the Palace manager was sccused of being underhand by having the centre forward in the number 2 shirt.

Yeah spot on. I presume Simon Lane does the numbers in wrong positions thing to confuse the oppo and get a marginal gain in the first 10 minutes. Fair enough but it’s incredibly annoying for supporters at this stage in the season given we basically don’t know who any of the players are - also a decision of the manager!

Yep, quite right. Other players were named in the squad list in the programme, but two or three have not been seen or involved in the first two games.

Cannot understand why we have a striker who has had two full games and has not had a shot on target. Lewes deserved to win on their all round performance but we need to press more in mid-field and need somebody to protect the defence.

The trouble, as we saw a couple of times on Wednesday night, is that as soon as the front players and midfielders press, teams play through us very easily. By staying compact, we make teams work harder to break us down. It can be frustrating to watch, but I see why Simon sets us up like that.

I thought Lewes looked an excellent team, much better than Billericay did on Saturday. They moved the ball around too quickly for us to deal with and outmuscled us in pretty much every challenge. As they should have, frankly, given the amount of Football League, Step 1 and Step 2 experience in their team.

As an aside, as an exiled Peterborough fan it was bittersweet to see Chris Whelpdale score against us. His career never really kicked on as it might have, but 300 football league appearances, the bulk of them at League 1 level and a handful in the Championship, is the sort of experience that Ks can only dream of.
