Squad photos

For those who follow Simon Roe's instagram, he did a series of brilliant squad photos and videos for the new season. The club has not seen fit to publicise or feature any of these. Perhaps the new Supporters Club committee can ask to use them.

Thanks for spotting this Taimour and bringing it to our attention.
No one is sure what is going on at board level at the moment or who even is the board anymore.
Utilising the supporters club for this purpose is a good idea and there has been some great discussions around new stock for the club shop also.

Great news on the club shop stock. I’d love to buy loads of k’s stuff for family and friends but the stock has been abysmal for a good 5 years if so now.
To start with: can I suggest a return before winter to the brilliant red and white hooped bobble hats? They were superb but never restocked.

Thanks Alastair-I think most fans are in agreement about how poor the club shop has been run over the years, even down to the shocking website.
It has now given us an opportunity to focus on what people want to see from our club shop and ideas around what to stock were mentioned straight after Friday’s meeting and at yesterday’s game.
We want to get round this nonsense of the club shirts, how certain sizes are never available or how you have to wait until mid season to get a shirt-we’ll work with kit suppliers before the season finishes and engage with supporters who want a shirt for the following season.
Finally those taking over the club shop are buzzing with ideas. They are not just supported by the supporters club committee but many fans who now see this as a great opportunity to improve the Kingstonian branding and raise funds which are for the supporter’s club priorities and not to support a failing board!

So you're an advocate for nobody doing anything then? The fans are right for doing everything they can to help improve the experience of match days in the absence of anyone on the board seemingly caring.
People giving up their time to help and without looking for financial reward (unlike the board) should be applauded. The sooner that the fans are all united against those that seek to undermine and ruin our club the better.

Knew there would be dislikes 👎 but we do have more important things than squad photos to worry about.
As everyone keeps saying let's sort the main issues out 1st

Let’s sort as many issues as possible out. We are not streamlining, Foley. After a few years of a Ks board running the club on a long road to oblivion, a SC committee who done nothing to challenge them or promote themselves, we finally have a new SC committee who want to stand up and get things done, especially in challenge ineptitude by the board. Things are going to get done and in double quick time. These will be the “main issues” as well as what you might think are minor issues.

At a time when there is virtually no twitter, no instagram, no youtube channel and no matchday photos, i'm sorry but it does matter that Roe has - presumably for free - done some amazing work to promote the club and yet none of it is being used. This is part of how non-league clubs market themselves and stay relevant and retain interest. Kingstonian's current online offering is considerable worse than most Step 5 outfits.

We have an online offering??
Worcester City are a good model which we could do with paying attention to. Kicked out of their ground due to a dodgy deal with the board and resigned to playing in faraway places with poor transport links.
There were regular promises that the board were in advanced discussions to bring the club home, with no concrete solutions other than a stadium for which there was no chance of ever getting planning permission.
Once the board had spaffed all the money they took a triple demotion and put the club in managed decline.
Eventually they were convince to sell the club to a local businessman who was city through and through. He and a group of fans who were probably classed as inexperienced chaps helped create a buzz about the club again, mostly through an excellent web and social media presence. Striking a deal with the local FA they now play on the edges of the city, hiring the pitch but with a clubhouse to make money.
They have been poor on the pitch while they rebuild but have stayed in the league (currently equivalent to combined counties premier) but it is finally coming together this year. City is fun again. And their social media is still excellent.
Spot any similarities?

Foley you are getting dislikes because you are talking nonsense. The sort of nonsense that garnered just 3 votes at the SC AGM on Friday. The changes that the new SC committee have promised to bring are very popular and were voted in favour massively, about 35 to 3. If you’d have turned up, you’d have seen this for yourself.

All four change damo
And congrats to those who got on.
I just don't see things changing though and we need better results etc on pitch.
The board is not going anywhere and will not disclose any info.

The SC committee will now ask pertinent questions of the board on behalf of the majority of Ks supporters. The board don’t have to disclose, but would not make good business sense for a group in charge of a product to alienate its consumer, in this case the consumer is its fan base. Remember, by playing in Mitcham we have lost a lot of local, casual fans who drift in to watch their local football team play We rely on loyalty of the current fan base and would be foolish to alienate them by closing up.
This won’t change things on the pitch, but should help build bridges off the pitch, which will then have an impact on the pitch. There’s some things supporters can’t change, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t focus on the things we can. Moaning and voting against a motion to hold the board to account because there’s a chance the board won’t comply is just so foolish. It’s almost like there’s fans (3 at the AGM) who actually don’t want the SC to act on behalf of the supporters toward the board, were happy with the nonsense that was coming from the SC committee previously. Gladly these people are in a massive minority.

Foley, those of us who go to games are fully aware of how bad things are on the pitch.
It was suggested by someone with experience of managing at this level that we have a ‘relegation budget’. So yes you are right there are bigger problems, problems that have been solely caused by the board.
The board may not disclose anything, that’s fine but will just further antagonise the very fans they need to work with to take the club forward.
Not all of us have a defeatist attitude.
Finally, you are not the forum moderator. It’s not for you to decide if fans should discuss certain topics or not. If you don’t like the topic of discussion, don’t read it or ignore it.

The problem is that the board don’t “need” to work with you. I think they will simply ignore you.

As Damo points out above, they do need to work with supporters aka their customers. That’s how football club’s work at this level and it’s how businesses work.
Ignoring the fans will only backfire on them!

Of course the board don’t “need” to work with fans, but it would be so stupid not to. We, the supporters, are their customer base. Every company garners consumer opinion. You could say Dulwich mastered this a few years ago. In non football, you look at popular companies. You see a multinational company like McDonalds, who stared selling McPlant burgers. Why? Because consumer feedback told them they lose business by not having a proper veggie option. This type of market research is carried out by most companies. Back to Kingstonian specifically, you have a Supporters Club doing the market research for the board, telling the, what the fans want. The supporters aren’t demanding the impossible, like a £50,000 a week playing budget and 5 figure transfer fees then demanding to win the league. Would be crazy of the board not to listen.

maybe you’re just saying things that are unpopular, Paul
social media is the most public-facing part of what any business does. to treat it as an afterthought is a dereliction of duty.
what a state
