Further to Rex’s call for consultation and input from members. The new committee is going to take a meeting or two to organise themselves but would like to suggest at the next four home games four (or more) committee members are by the club shop 20 mins before kick off and at half time to answer questions or listen to what supporters have to say. This maybe helpful in formulating a survey later in the autumn or for discussion points amongst the committee. My other suggestion would be a q and a session with the manager and a strong show of support towards him and the team. I am away so if these ideas mentioned at the reconvenedcagm then apologies.

As the recent posts have been on the subject of being ignored Inthought I would repost my suggestion. As there are some committee members who post thought there may have been a response. Perhaps just slipped the net?

Hi Peter. Sorry, I didn't realise you were looking for a specific reply on here and, as I won't be able to make the next few home games, I didn't think to comment on your other suggestion.
I think a Q&A with the Manager would be a great idea. I think a Q&A with the Directors might be a higher priority, tho.
These ideas will all be on the agenda for a Committee meeting on Wednesday. The minutes will be shared. I'm sure there'll be plenty of opportunity for discussion.
Cheers, Rex

Absolutely, worth remembering that last August, the last time this happened, it was promised these would happen every 3-4 months, and we've not heard anything since!
It's something it was suggested the SC should be putting pressure on the board to do - and while we've no idea to what extent this has happened previously, I'm sure we'd all be very grateful if the new committee could do this on the fan's behalf.

Yes, agree. Let’s hope the new committee find a way to encourage this to happen

Blimey Peter, judging by the time stamps, you haven’t even given the new constitution 2 hours to reply! 😂
Have a day off will ya

Time keeping isn’t one of your strongpoints. ‘ Barely given two hours to reply’. My calculation almost 26 hours.
I wasn’t too fussed about getting a reply it just amused me that there was a conversation about the board ignoring the supporters club at a time my proactive suggestion was ignored.
I appreciate it will take a few weeks for the committee to settle and will wait to see how they will proceed. We have had the wedding (old and new getting together) and now we are in the honeymoon period.

Have a word Peter. You posted on Sunday evening, with a decent suggestion, then complained a little over 24 hours later that you’ve been “ignored”. You were not “ignored”, the new committee have a lot of organising to do. They were formally elected on Friday, matchday Saturday, your post was Sunday. Give them some time as there are a lot of ideas coming at them. For someone who didn’t turn up to either of the two AGMs, doing a temper tantrum post about being ignored is very childish.

How can you translate me saying ‘it just amused me’ into ‘a temper tantrum’.? I honestly saw the funny side.
I didn’t attend the second agm as I was ( and still am ) in Italy. That point seems contrary to the idea that the new committee want to hear from all supporters whether they belong to the supporters club or not but you didn’t think I have the same rights because I didn’t attend the agm. Lastly, in your reply to Foley on Sunday you said the motion was’ voted massively in favour about 35 to 3 and he would have seen it if he had been there.
No he wouldn’t have done as the minutes show 24 for 3 against and 5 abstentations. Admittedly still a sizeable amount for those in attendance but in the bigger picture 24 out of about 140 members , in my opinion , needs further initiatives to obtain views. The old committee were within their remit to decide against postal votes and I did email John Bangs well in advance suggesting postal votes. It was a missed opportunity to obtain a stronger reflection of views.
Having said this I am encouraged by Rex’s views on consultation and Matts enthusiasm for the club shop. The committee need time to communicate further. Let’s hope this doesn’t proceed into a to and fro . Let’s get back to treating differing views with respect.

I’m glad you find it funny, it came across as quite negative toward a new committee who have tried really hard to hit the ground running. Maybe the mirth would have been more obvious if it wasn’t on the back of your many previous negative posts.
As for the voting, I didn’t count the vote myself, but I counted the people in attendance at the start of the meeting and it totalled 38 people, so I’m not sure where the sums of 24 + 3 + 5 = 38 people. But, that’s the accuracy of the minutes, probably why it’s good we are getting a lot of fresh new committee members.
There does need to be further initiatives to get more people involved. 38 members out of 140 is very poor. The turn out shows how underwhelmed people were with the old committee, highly possibly that it was because there were people on it for their own benefit, I’m glad the new committee is reaching out already to obtain views of all fans, as well their own members.

Pete the new committee have only just been voted in and have only just booked their first meeting.
We’ve posted some items already.
How often did you have a Q&A with the previous committee?
Not sure if you know but many of the committee members will be undertaking fundraising tasks on match days including selling 50/50 tickets and running the club shop.
I’m sure you can approach anyone during or after a game for a chat though.
