Board update; Whitehawk debacle

Hi everyone, as promised I wrote to the board around the concerns of switching the Whitehawk cup game. I was advised that the club had to play the game by a certain date and that T&M’s ground was not available hence the tie being switched. The board have advised the following:

‘Further to our conversation this afternoon, I can confirm that following today’s postponement of our league cup match at Whitehawk (which should have originally been a ‘home’ tie), John Fenwick and myself have agreed to financially cover the cost of the supporters club minibus for the re-arranged match to be played on Tuesday 30th January 2024 (on receipt of an invoice from RAKAT).

In addition to this, we will also personally financially reimburse any Kingstonian FC season ticket holders who go to the re-arranged match (provided that they produce proof that they bought a ticket for the re-arranged match), we would ask any season ticket holder to personally approach John or myself at the following ‘home’ match v Hastings United with proof of a ticket having been purchased, and we will gladly reimburse them).

Finally, for any Kingstonian FC supporter who attends the re-arranged match who is NOT a season ticket holder, we will financially reimburse them the difference for their ticket between what Whitehawk will charge them and what we would have charged them it it was played at Imperial Fields as a ‘Home’ match - again we would ask any season ticket holder to personally approach John or myself at the following ‘home’ match v Hastings United with proof of a ticket having been purchased, and we will gladly reimburse them).’

Well done to the SC for pushing for this and the board for agreeing to it after this rather odd debacle.

Given the ground we pay to rent was 'unavailable' I wonder if T&M will be contributing towards this reimbursement? How many more times will Mitcham be 'unavailable' for our games, forcing us to travel miles and play away?

It's good to see that even the board have now taken to using inverted commas when describing it as our home. The sooner we leave for somewhere nearer the sooner we can start getting our club back.

The Board should see this proof positive that they need to engage more with the Supporters Club and explore opportunities for a more representative ownership model.
