Obviously prefers coasting to a title than a relegation fight at a higher level. Shame, good player but can't blame him if Farnham are splashing the cash. Wev'e had two good results under Tutu and proof that we can compete at this level. Difficult to maintain momentum when your best players are not convinced to stay.

Bit harsh.
Farnham has a better vibe, more fans, are on the up rather than on the way down, will be playing at our level next year (and probably finish ahead of us).
Not sure any player would favour us over them right now, regardless of money.
Also worth remembering that we have given up on staying at this level for next season. There's therefore no real incentive for us to spend money on budget for this season instead of save it for next season. We need to let players go.
Still feels like some haven't realised the significance of us saying we will play at RPV next year tbh.

I'm not sure there's any real incentive for us even bother finishing the season.
If we're accepting relegation anyway, there's a strong argument to pack it now, cancel the wages we'd spend on the remaining 14 fixtures and save the money for next season, when we won't have the £40k AFCW money to supplement the budget, because we were only allowed to do that for five years.

Just to put this bed as it's come up a few times. Harlow didn't finish last season for a much more valid reason - problems with their 3G pitch - and the punishment was severe. Double relegation, banned from the FA Cup, banned from bring promoted this year. So no, we aren't going to do that (I hope).
It would also be wrong to sack players who might be relying on an income until the end of April in a cost of living crisis. Those who can find a club that's less of a mess, as Waters has, should be encouraged to do so. The rest the board has to suck it up and find the money to pay them to see out the season.
edit - in addition to this our sponsors (not that we have many) and ST holders (not that many of them go to games) have paid for a full season, we'd owe major refunds if we packed up now.

If we didn’t finish because of lack of funding we would simply be thrown out and would have to find a league to apply for. If we could. This is not a good idea.

If any of the players are on contract would we be liable to pay them?
Do the league fine clubs for failing to fulfill fixtures?

Yes by law of contract
Clubs that fail to compete their fixtures are liable to be expelled

But it's not a relegation fight. Even if we somehow escape the relegation zone we are choosing to drop a level anyway. The players have every right to go and find a team which will give them step 3 football in the future post-April 2024.

Shame, never good to lose one of our better players. I wonder if it's all part of our new chairman's master plan to ensure relegation?

Dead helpful that other clubs announce these transfers for us. No need for us to double up and waste space on the internet by putting it on our own website/social media. Thanks, Westfield and Farnham x
Must still be prepping the written statement from last week’s Q&A too. If you weren’t there/online at 5:30pm, nothing happened. Bizarre.
