The Club's official account tweeted TWO HOURS AGO that there will be a pitch inspection at 11 tomorrow morning.
Can anybody explain why that message wasn't also conveyed on here?

Probably because this is an unofficial forum, and the moderation of this is to say the least light touch.
If this is an unofficial forum, why would we expect The Football Club to post information on here?

Oh sorry John.
Would you prefer a heavy-handed approach akin to when you deleted this thread from the Supporters' Club Facebook page at the end of last season that criticised the way that you had spouted board talking points regarding the announcement to stay at Imperial Fields for 2023/2024?

The official club website used to link to this forum and there were also autoposts. For any casual or new Ks fan it provided solid evidence that there is still a community of people discussing and caring about Ks. The official site gives no indication of this - and that's even before we get to how seldom it is updated.
The forum is moderated. There is little to no abuse and even potentially defamatory content is excised.
A confident club ownership should have no issue with communicating its message in a number of ways to a variety of places, even where there may be criticism.

Got to agree with you and Jon here, totally
The club needs to widen its reach with news to reach as many people as possible. It’s on Twitter and the website but not on Facebook or here
Not everyone uses twitter
It’s not that difficult to put up a couple of posts additional

Actually, the football club does have a Kingstonian FC Facebook site.
The new owners have said they want to try and improve the relationship with fans and maybe this could result in their moving back to posting on here. However, I can understand if they don’t feel minded to post on a site with a great big banner at the top calling for their dismissal. For sure, the new owners need to make good on promises of improved communication, but maybe we could meet them partway? Just a thought.
A few years ago I would have said that this forum was far away the main source of information about the K’s. However, social media now has a far greater reach. For example, a recent post here about the appointment of Tutu as our new manager got six likes and 876 views. A post on Twitter however got 131 likes and 22K views. The post about Tutu’s appointment on the Club’s Facebook page got 43 likes.
Having said that it must be acknowledged there are still a minority who use the internet but not social media and the Forum does have the potential to increase our reach so this seems a conversation worth pursuing.

That wasn’t what I said
I know it has a FB account
It just wasn’t published on it
As has been pointed out here, there’s more news on here then by the club officially
It’s about reaching out to as many people as possible beyond a few interested people. If I can do enough stuff on publicising young cyclists , mainly supported by two charities, which includes finding out results from obscure places, then the club can do a bit more than it is
I’d offer my services but the club’s direction isn’t worth my time and interest. (If you’re reading this Yioryos, good)

This is Gary's forum and the vast majority of Ks fans are grateful to him for it. Given the way the directors have treated him, I completely understand why there's a SACK THE BOARD banner across the top of it. Any decision to remove it Gary's alone.
Communication from the "new Board" is as bad as it was from the old.
Mind you, until Yioryos corrects the record on how the AFCW money has been spent, I'm not sure I'd believe anything he says.

Also, didn't the board subsequently sack itself? That rather suggests they agreed with the message.

John, other than confirmation that John Fenwick has stood down as Chairman and speculation that Mark Anderson has sold his shares in Kingstonian fc, there has been no announcement on here, the official club website or, the supporters club facebook site that we have 'new owners'. Do you know who the new owners are?

Not entirely. At the recent Q&A session Yioryos introduced Steve Dormer and Jim Page as people in the process of becoming Directors. May understanding is that to be a director of the football club. A person has to acquire shares in the club and then follow the legal processes for becoming a company director. I assume that when this is completed, the information will be publicised and also shown on the Club ‘s website and records at Company house.I do not know if there are others joining in with this.

They serve completely different purposes, the forum isn't about reach and measuring clicks and views is irrelevant.
This is a space where our supporters can properly discuss the club - an online community that's been going for what, 25 years or more, largely populated by our longest-standing fans, many of whom also know each other in real life. It's primarily somewhere for discussion, particularly while our future is so up in the air. The function as a news source for a period of time when the club had an FWP website that auto-posted news stories here was always secondary.
Twitter achieves reach and I'm sure Tutu got lot of likes from his many contacts in the game. But it's also a cesspit and not really a space for sensible debate about the future of our football club.
FB is somewhere in the middle and sometimes has useful discussions but it does rely on people having an account, which for various reasons many people don't want to. Also both the official and SC pages have been plagued by spam over the last year.

are you asking “why would the club try and inform fans of things going on at the club”?
