A month ago today, the new Chairman promised better and regular communications with the supporters - since when we've heard NOTHING from him.
He's recording an interview this evening. Things to look out for:
* a business plan
* a marketing plan
* a plan to grow attendances
* a plan to grow sponsorship income
* a plan to return us to the Borough that doesn't involve wasting the next two years pursuing a ground-share in a residential area that the local population absolutely will not accept
* a clear and unequivocal commitment to embrace fan ownership
* an apology for lying to the supporters over the AFCW money
* what happens if we achieve promotion next season

Just to note that the SC themselves have not been fulfilling their own promises - in last September's AGM, the new SC committee promised they would send regular reports of meetings to the website for publishing, but after sending one on 22 Sept, nothing further. The direct email newsletters have been good though.
The SC didn't request updated webpages or ask for space in the programme, for news or to advertise any events eg no Xmas party, Race night, other fundraiser or end of season event - also there have been no requests to advertise merchandise or the hot drinks or Away Travel or even to ask for help if needed. There has been no update on the several tasks the committee were planning to investigate, no additional revenue streams announced. What have they been doing apart from getting t-shirts for protests?
It is a pity because the new committee members were quite certain they would do so much more than previous committees.

Hi rosey
Have you retracted this baseless claim that the supporters’ club got those t-shirts made for protests? I haven’t seen it anywhere.
someone mentioned it last night to me and I thought why would they think that. and then I saw this post this morning and it reminded me of repercussions of people spreading disinformation

You have proof of this?
That is some allegation to make
As for away travel? There’s been quite a bit going on. And with concessions too. It’s not so much as a revenue raiser, although I’m sure people would like it to be but more of a service to allow people to get to away games, especially those who may find public transportation a bit of a difficulty and also those without access to private vehicles

Hi Rosey
Minutes of all Supporters Club Committee Meetings 2023-24 (since the AGM) can be found on the Documents page on the SC blogspot at https://comeonuks.wordpress.com/documents/
You're right - not everything with the new SC Cttee is perfect, but we're doing our best. Personally, I think we're right to prioritise good supporters communications and holding the Directors to account, rather than organising a race night. We're very grateful to those members of the previous Committee who agreed to stay on and help with the new.

New man? The chairman has been on the board since 2017!
At the supporters club committee meeting last week we were advised the chairman would be speaking with KBH at the weekend and an announcement/interview would take place.
This has not happened.
Many fans of our club and other clubs feel we only have a few years left to exist!

I find these comments very distressing, I try to stay positive and hope this will not happen. I became one of Jack Goodchild's what you might call ' Jack's Barmy Army' in the late Fifties and they were the most enjoyable times I have had following this great club. I hope that the sun will shine again on K's

Just something on the website confirming who our directors are would be a good start… as opposed to springing a new board on fans in a meeting suddenly and no follow-up since. If you didn’t attend that you’re not meant to know who is on the board apparently.

I find the silence so odd. If I’m clutching at straws maybe we are going to be told that the AFCW money is going to be invested in a way that allows us to cover ground shares without eroding the money any further.
Or maybe it’s been invested in NFTs and has all gone.

Being charitable I can only assume that the new people will come on the board at the end of this abysmal experience.
But the total disconnect between owners, directors and fans is absolutely shocking and confirms that the directors of the club cannot be that bothered about the fans.
Walton & Hersham’s directors made a controversial decision last week and the successful manager and a quarter of the squad left shaking the club to its roots. However the directors were in the bar after yesterday’s game and said “come and talk to us” and are arranging a fans forum to explain their decision.

Re: Bottled it

Correct.
I’ve kept quiet on this, but the below is what happened: after I offered to conduct the interview with the chairman, there was some back and forth. He asked for questions related to the AFC Wimbledon money in advance of the interview, which I was reluctant to provide, but went along with to try and make it happen.
12 hours before the interview, I sent over this message:
Questions for later
The afc money. What was agreed? How much has been spent on the playing budget? How much of the playing budget did this represent? Why wasn’t this more fully communicated? Could we have been smarter with the original money (invested etc) or did the deal not allow it?
Other topics - current board make up; strategy moving towards; likelihood of our own ground (do we have enough money, how many options are in play)
I then had a message (I won’t post his messages, they’re his to share) saying that the interview would no longer take place that day as he was busy during the day (the implication being that he didn’t have time to prepare), I replied saying:
That’s disappointing. I’d told you the areas to discuss, so there’s no surprises there and nothing you shouldn’t have an answer to, and I’d moved things around to make this [time]work.
I then received a long reply explaining why 12 hours wasn’t enough time to prepare for the questions above and that we could do it the next week with all the directors.
To be honest, I didn’t reply to that message, and I’m not going to chase it. I felt a bit messed around, if the board want to do it, they can ask again, but I’ve been at our two games since those messages, and no one from the board has asked me about it.
I don’t think there was anything in my questions that the chairman of Ks, who has been on the board for 7/8 years should need more than 12 hours to prepare for, or that they shouldn’t know off the top of their heads. Surely the details of the deal with AFC are, if not immediately known, easily accessible.
So I’m left with a few options of what’s happening : a chairman without the requisite knowledge to do the job; a board dodging anything resembling a tough question; or a board needing a week to come up with any kind of decent answers as to where the money has gone.
None of which fill me with immediate hope. Apologies to those who were looking forward to the interview, maybe it’ll happen soon, but sorry to say I’m past the point of spending my time chasing and nagging to make it happen.

(ps. there's nothing wrong with saying "I don't know" or "I'll need to look into that" during an interview, such as whether the AFC money could have been invested etc.)
Meanwhile it's over a month since the meeting, and no communication has gone out about the board makeup, nor any updates to companies house.

It takes two to tango and if one party isn’t willing to, then you’re left without a dance
You’ve tried your best and done something I wouldn’t have done in my reporting days decades ago - sent some questions in advance. You’ve bent over backwards to accommodate but he has done nothing
And if the Chair is reading this - prove me wrong. You won’t
I’m not sure what he’s trying to prove other then he either doesn’t care for the club or he’s unable to run the club

No doubt the board will blame BedfordshireK for the delay but they have a website, an internet connection and presumably they each have a keyboard. Communicating is not that difficult.
It was a great performance from Yiorg on the night in that he captured the hearts of people clinging on to hope. He wanted to be judged from that point forward. But ever since it’s been same old, same old.
One lifelong K’s fan recently asked a board member at a game if we could announce our new signings. He was told that the board had more important things to worry about. True perhaps, but sums up so much about the state of the club.
Still so many unanswered questions from that night in February too…

I’m all for given people chances and moving forward BUT we’ve given this guy how many chances over the past 7/8 years and the club has deteriorated with him on the board.
This guy and his pals are not the people to take the club forward, it’s plain to see.
We’ve lost a year of change thanks to the egos of individuals refusing to relinquish control and allow others to help the club grow. The club situation has got significantly worse in that time.
We must now all pull together and act to save this club. This chairman and his pals need to step aside with immediate affect.

Hi Jim, hope you're well.
The issue of the AFCW draw down was something identified by the KBH group. It became one of our red lines and was also part of our calculated commitment to £150k new money into the club. I find it unbelievable (but more worrying if true) that the current chairman - who I believe has been on the board for 7(?) years - does not know the full facts when a group of outsiders who were consistently denied access to the accounts to complete due diligence could see it so clearly.
To the new directors, welcome. But I find it equally worrying that these new directors now also say they don't have the full facts. What due diligence took place before investing? If none, is this the real reason these new offers were chased down by the chairman and outgoing directors so quickly, whilst delaying and crashing an offer of significant new investment into the club itself?

It is true that people have been asking for information of this type for several years. However, we have a largely new board of directors and if the questions were specific in detail, I can understand that they might want to have time to check detailed facts before replying.
The interview being delayed by one week is not at all the same thing as refusing to be interviewed.

Surely they have to be asking themselves if this is worth the bother. Reviving Kingstonian takes Christ like powers of resurrection. Whoever has a go could well be on a complete hiding to nothing. The task seems to have been beyond Anderson who is a shrewd businessman. I would call on the shareholders to transfer their shares - which are surely worthless - to a Supporters Trust so that the supporters can take matters in hand.

I thought the new chairman and board largely came across well at the supporters' meeting a month ago but the lack of communication since has been bizarre.
There was no announcement about who the new board was comprised of. They then fielded questions (reasonably well, in fairness) for an hour or so, and there has still been no announcement about who they are! It's utterly mad.
I've spent the past few weeks telling some other fans "Yeah this new bloke, Steve...something....he seems like he has his head screwed on..." but why would anyone believe me when the club don't even announce the very basic information of who the bloody board are?
