No programme next season

Heard from a chap in the main stand on Saturday that there will be no more club programmes next season at Kingstonian.

I always enjoyed reading the the editor's thoughts and keeping up to date with the youth teams.

Programmes are no longer mandatory and the club can't find enough sponsors so no point really. The directors want to continue to use the club's modern, new website as a central space for communication with supporters.

Don't forget to buy the last edition against Harringey!!!

This rumour popped up and Rex also contacted Robert W about it - he's not been told that! However since we are finishing this month, maybe george didn't tell him but its more likely he's not decided this, or not yet thought about it.
Maybe you overheard the fact that Robert won't be doing the programme.
He is actually concerned to hand over the website working, his secretary knowledge, and programme inc showing where to get the data from and what needs updating; he contacted George about this, as hadn't seen any adverts for his jobs and waiting to update George on the league requirements there.
We do know sadly that many clubs are stopping paper programmes sadly as they rarely even break even cost wise

Appreciate the response and alot of it kinda makes sense if there was no more forward planning on behalf of the club. Then again no suprise considering all the board shareholder changes but not legally ratified via companies house 🤣

It is easy to forget the club have for decades relied on the kindness of fans.

I'd like to think the SC would make a weekly fanzine to counter this

It's great the club are taking their environmental responsibility so seriously and cutting down their paper usage. Bravo!

If true this is terribly sad.

We have had an uninterrupted run of printed home programmes (apart from WW2) since 1919. While I understand times change, technologies change and less people buy them now it feels like this is losing something of value that has been traditional and part of our history. It's a permanent physical thing and a memento of a game that can't be replicated by social media or from a website.

Even a 4 page effort with team line ups and a bit of news would be better than nothing. If this turns out to be true then it would be great if the supporters club were able to produce something/anything that gave that same sort of memento for each match and a feeling of continuity.

This rot needs to stop. Why is £150k of NEW investment (I.e. on top of current and expected additional buy in) to the CLUB being blocked by the current custodians?

Ks were quite lucky to have a few excellent contributors to the programme (and social media and YouTube), many of whom did journalism/communications as their day job.

Unfortunately these fans were treated like crap as part of 'KBH' and quite reasonably decided they were no longer going to give up their free time to contribute. If a deal for the ownership of the club involving KBH wasn't suitable for the old (existing?) board that's fair enough but these fans / volunteers were treated with contempt which has really damaged the club's communications (and therefore marketing as our only marketing is through social media).

The (old?) (existing?) board have been in a difficult situation in many respects (ground etc) and have made some poor football judgements (these things can happen, you can't get every managerial appointment right).

But the contempt they have shown towards fans and volunteers is truly shameful and evidence of a lack of basic decency.
