Yioryos Vasilaras has been expelled as a member of the Kingstonian Supporters Club.
Following a complaint received about him from another member of the Supporters Club, the President twice wrote to Mr Vasilaras, asking him to address the complaint. When no reply was received, the President wrote to him a third time, advising him that a decision had been taken to expel him from the Club, unless he chose to lodge an appeal.
As no appeal was made, the decision to expel him is now confirmed.

The statement doesn't indicate whether the committee discussed and agreed to this, or was it just the SC chairman making the decision.
I am surprised to see this has been put into the public domain without contacting the rest of the membership.
At the beginning of the season when I was on the committee, we met to decide whether to allow membership to someone who had been witnessed verbally threatening volunteers and stewards, and we decided to be lenient but watchful.
Such an action requires there to be an incident with "evidence of behaviour likely to bring the Supporters Club [specifically] into disrepute." It is a pretty big step to take, so as a current member I'd like to hear, what has Yioryos done specifically to bring the Supporters Club into disrepute?

Gosh, Rosey. I haven't known you take such a keen interest in the work of the Supporters Club since you refused to have anything more to do with it after being voted off the Committee at the last AGM.
And now I'm in something of a dilemma, as some contributors to this thread have called for greater transparency, whilst others have suggested it should be/have remained more confidential...
However, and since you asked, the Committee discussed this issue (expelling Yioryos Vasilaras for bringing the Supporters Club into disrepute) at the Committee Meeting, held 13 March 2024. The following is taken from the minutes of that meeting.
[START]
It was complained that Yioryos Vasilaras had (1) "denigrated [the complainant, another member of the Supporters Club] and belittled his efforts on behalf of the Club and its supporters, in public and at a meeting where [the complainant] had no right to reply and (2) "lied to the supporters about the use of the AFC Wimbledon money". The complainant emailed the Chairman to ask him to apologise; the Chairman twice declined to apologise.
Subsequently, SL [the President of the Supporters Club] emailed the Chairman, asking him to address the complaint but has received no reply.
Following a lengthy and heated debate [i.e. at the Committee Meeting], a motion to expel the Chairman from the Supporters Club was tabled. Votes were cast as follows:
To expel: 4 votes
To caution: 3 votes
No action: 1 vote
Abstentions: 3 votes
NB this excludes the complainant who did not vote but who stated that he favoured action be taken.
There being a clear consensus that some action should be taken, SL will email the Chairman again, asking him urgently to address the complaint. If the Chairman fails to address the complaint against him, it was agreed should be expelled from the SC.
[END]
I hope that helps?

Just to be factual Rosey refused to work with the new committee with the words along the lines of ‘if any of this lot get on the committee I’m standing down.’
That first AGM was one of my most enjoyable nights as a Ks fan!

A lot of new people stood for committee with a good promise. They were proposed and seconded for committee. If the committee was to stay at the same size, I have no doubt she’d have lost the vote. But, it was decided that the size of the committee would increase, giving her a chance to still be on committee.
As Filipo says, she outright refused to work with the new people on the committee. Her exact words should be recorded in the minutes of the AGM.
Definitely seems one of those sort that if she doesn’t get her own way she packs up and goes home.
Again, good riddance.

Good riddance.
You turned up out of nowhere and got your feet well under the table. Got yourself on the Supporters Club committee, a committee that went hand in hand with the board by supporting the board in its destruction of the club. You, on the SC committee at the time, are complicit by allowing it and not voicing concerns or using your voice to call out bad management.
You stood down from the SC committee when you realised you would be voted off because the supporters found you out. As soon as you lost your gravy train you threw your toys out the pram. You stopped the SC club selling merchandise through the club’s official website, which your husband runs because you were sulking at losing your role. Now you’ve decided that you are no longer a supporter and never attending again just because you didn’t get your own way. You lost your meal ticket and you’re never coming back, like you’ve suddenly stopped supporting.
Meanwhile, the people that replaced you on the SC committee are doing a much better job and doing what they were elected to do, represent the views of the supporters rather than themselves. They are holding this disaster of a board to account. Supporting the club means calling out bad practice, and you were part of the bad practice.
Again, good riddance.

I'm not sure a voluntary role on a supporters club really deserves phrases like "gravy train" and "meal ticket".
It's sad it's come to all this.

Ah, but they don't want me though... 20yrs ago is 'coming out of nowhere'.
I 'm pretty offended by that wild allegation I've benefitted in any way from Ks except meeting new people & enjoying helping the club. Oh wait, I've helped myself to - gasp - free coffee all season. OMG. Oh, wait, I buy the teabags and cakes myself. I'm really on the gravy train there.
As far as rudeness on that family day, stewards and other volunteers certainly never complained of me, we all work very well together - I think there was a miscommunication from the SC organisers because parents & carers weren't told where to go so they went into the wrong areas. We do sometimes have similar issues when people try to come in the boardroom while it is still in use for its primary purpose of hosting the opposition committee, our patrons, and match officials for dedicated times during and after each game - this is a league requirement we'd not been fulfilling so I was asked to enforce this. Sadly the current chair didn't make this clear to the SC when they arranged events there, or sometimes the chair agreed but didn't let me know.

Totally agree Damo, on point with how most fans see it.
Imagine coming into a football club and be rude to fans that have been coming for years
Let’s not forget the behaviour at the family day; I had complaints from Stewards, volunteers and parents of the kids we were trying to involve in the club, some of whom came to ks for the first time. It’s the SC that are bringing in fans for the future!
The previous SC committee failed the supporters hard.
We’ve achieved a lot and we are not stopping yet.
We will keep this club alive and not jump ship!

4. MEMBERSHIP
4.4 The Committee reserves the right to refuse membership or caution, suspend or expel existing
members at any time where there is evidence of behaviour likely to bring the Supporters’ Club into
disrepute. Appeals against such decisions must be in writing to the Chair within seven days of being
notified of the decision
For clarity for those who can't access the constitution
I would imagine the SC would be able to confirm wether it was the committee that decided this?
Not sure they if they could or should say why unless the member who made the complaint came out publicly with their complaint?

1. There is no detailing of the allegation
2. It is in the public interest
3. The individual chose not to make representations
4. Nothing in the SC rules, to which members commit, envisages confidentiality of outcomes of disciplinary procedures.

If the disciplinary process had happened to anyone else, would the Supporters Club have named and shamed said individual on the forum?
Whether representations were made or not is irrelevant.
Where in the constitution does it say that where someone is expelled this will be posted on a public forum by the Supporters Club?

Re: Yioryos Vasilaras

The Supporters' Club is a members' organisation with a constitution to which people commit. I don't think it can be expected that it would detail every possible scenario, particularly a rare one. When confronted with the reality that the constitution does not prohibit something, you change tack to imply that only things which are explicitly articulated can be permitted. Taking a step back, and applying common sense, it is in the public interest that it be known that Kingstonian's major shareholder has not responded to a complaint made by a fellow member and has, in accordance with the constitution, and having not exercised his right of appeal, been expelled. Making that conclusion public, without detailing the complaint, strikes the right balance. The tone of the SC announcement is factual and sober. The outcome would, in any event, have become public at the next SC meeting and one or more members would have been entitled to post about it then. Also compare this to FA disciplinary procedures, whose outcomes are made public so as to encourage accountability and transparency. No doubt you would dismiss that practice as "naming and shaming".

With respect, your questions are not relevant to the situation.
The Supporters Club is accountable and transparent. A new Committee was democratically elected at the last AGM specifically to hold the Directors to account.

You gotta admit it must be hard to get yourself expelled from a SC.
At the same time our chairman has the official website/SC FB page/this forum to put his two cents forward publicly aswell.
Let's not forget we had one alleged shareholder/director publicly calling out the SC president over alleged misinformation on here, which again false promises was made to counter it.
