Thanks to Rob

I know there's a thread below but i wanted to add a thanks to Rob who, we must assume, has just posted his last website update. He has done so much for K's over the years and deserves a break. When a group of us took over programme-editing duties for a season (2018?), we quickly realised how many hours a week it took. Rob's been doing that as well as countless other tasks, including match-day announcing. He and Rosey have always been kind to me (and my daughter) and i've enjoyed their company. I'm sad that, as K's declined and the Board were exposed, they were caught in the middle.
He has also had the misfortune of being a prominent club official at a time when the Board have often been absent. He's been loyal to a Board who, let's face it, didn't mind others facing flak on their behalf. Yioryos has also been responsible for a number of wildly inappropriate club communications over the years (remember that Mo Faal departure news story?) in which Rob was wrongly implicated.
I don't think for a minute that even Rob was told/aware of the £240 000 of AFC money used up by day-to-day budget support at a time when the Directors were repeatedly stating the money was "ring-fenced" for ground expenses, all the while asking fans to contribute to 12th Man schemes and the like. It is a tainted legacy for Anderson, Fenwick and co. It should not be laid at the door of club volunteers who served faithfully over that period.
Finally, i also think it's a shame that Yioryos unilaterally made a decision to change the website in 2023, something which created more work for Rob rather than less. We're now left with a shambles of a site with which someone new will have to grapple. (A reminder that Gary created and set up the website for free and it could have continued for free with advertising, had the club replied to an email.) I wish Rob had said "no" to Yiorg then and drawn a line in the sand.
For the state of current communications, just look at the new website for the women's/ladies team: https://www.kingstonianwomen.com/
Yiorg can only subsist with the help of others - as the current plea for volunteers shows. He needs to ask himself why no one wants to work for or with him.

Yeah, well said Taimour. All the best Rob - thanks for all the hard work and not kicking off when I filed match reports late…

This
I might have disagreements with Rosey at times, but both have served the club well
Good luck to anyone willing to take over any oth their many roles - they’re big shows to fill
(And fwiw - this merits a separate thread)

Yes, would like to add my thanks.
I've always liked Rob's tones over the PA system at, well, four different home grounds now...and while we possibly have different music taste I've always quite liked the classy touches he goes for (Eagles of Death Metal the day after they were involved in the terrorist attack in Paris; Meat Loaf the day after he died.)
I also think the programme has been one of the best in the league, and the website statements have always been written in exactly the right tone (unlike for example the statement that has done out today).
Thanks to Rob and indeed to all the volunteers who keep the club going.
