The revised scheme will help our Manager Scott Harris have the strongest team possible and also assist in the growth of our club and enhance our role in the local community.
Can anyone confirm what the planned split of spending from the contributions is across each of the following areas mentioned?
- Team spend
- Growth of our Club spend
- Role in the local community spend
Clarity on what specifically the last two bullets relate to would be great.
Thanks.

This has come as a surprise to the Supporters Club.
Now some might say "Why should the Club involve you, given how critical you've been of them?" but, in my emails and messages to the Directors (most of which go unanswered) I have always stressed that the Supporters Club stands ready to help the Football Club with its marketing and communications, even whilst being critical of them. That's what "being a critical friend" is all about.
Criticisms in this thread about various aspects of the scheme however, are no surprise at all and would have been obvious to anyone viewing the idea through a supporter's eyes. As ever, it seems the Club is blind to what the supporters think.

Was the 23/24 12th man scheme run by the supporters club. If so what happened to all the monthly prize draws?

Hi Peter-I’m going to look into this for you as it has never been raised at any committee meeting to my knowledge. We will try and get an update on this asap

Thank you for investigating. I think in the past John McCormack organised the 12th man scheme but would expect the club received the money and donated the prizes. If the club received the money but didn’t donate any prizes then this is something they should look into irrespective of whether the supporters club were the ‘admin’.
On the main website supporters club. The entry supporters club committee meeting 20/9/23. Events and fundraising ‘SL to clarify with the directors ((and Jim Page) resposibility for the 12th man scheme and player sponsorship’. There are no following minutes on the website after that date.

Hi Peter. As a general guide, fundraising schemes that go directly to the Club are organised by the Club.
However, I think the old 12th Man scheme was (partially?) administered by the Supporters Club, and there is a sum of money left in the SC's bank account to fund 2 x season tickets for 24/25 season, the draw for which will be made shortly (but definitely before season tickets go on sale for next year).

Not a huge fan of this, but reluctant to be too negative for the sake of it considering the new chairman has promised us really low-cost season tickets.
I'm not really sure how low they'd have to be for me to be impressed, to be honest, and if they get too low then I'd worry even more about where money is coming from!

This would have been exciting news if it was 7yrs ago when we gained a certain Marketing Director - what ever happened to him?
Most exciting step for me was option to sponsor player - randomly appointed by the club - WTF.
Guess it's because they'd have to do some work, make forms etc. to keep track of it - this way they can worry about it 6 months later. Not sure they'll need to worry about reaching the shorts.
Also, is this not just a rehash of other schemes?
Otherwise I'm right behind it

A lot of the fans don't knew the new players anyway so it's a bit of fun. Almost like a sweepstake!
Means players less likely to be picked last/get their feelings hurt.

Question, when they say
“ The money raised by the scheme will also be complimented by other fundraising such as match day draws and scratch-cards; along with special events.”
What events have they done the last few years
End of season awards with 5 days notice, ……………….
Feels like they challenging the supporters club here for fundraising, so bring it on then.

Okay I'm going to not be super negative on this one. Not because I don't want to risk the banhammer from dear leader for the cardinal sin of negativity, but because I actually think this could be viewed as good news for two reasons:
1. The board are trying to do something apparently positive. It may be in response or in competition with the SC fund raising schemes, but, its a small half inch shuffle in what is vaguely the right direction, no? Better than the board doing bollock all in my opinion. Yes there are probably better ways they could go about fund raising like swallowing some of that misplaced pride, making peace with the SC & joining forces... buuuuuttttt you gotta play with the hand you've been dealt in a deck thats been stripped of Aces.
2. Competition breeds innovation... & from my point of view there are few out there that are more innovative than those who were sat on the outside looking in before the revolution of the SC, who are now the people running the show there. You guys went from disgruntled fans to proponents of change in the space of a couple of months. Then entirely coincidentally (wink wink) since that time theres been a change of board, change of home ground & change of recruitment policy. I can't wait to see what other coincidences come coincidentally from your actions.
Glass half full... this can be a win win situation if we make it one.

Love the “wink wink” with the “entirely coincidentally”. Incredibly, there’s people who actually think it is a coincidence that a new SC committee and the changes just happened at the same time.

They should try not blocking fans on SocMeds. That may help this scheme?
I'm guessing all those signings we couldn't make last year cos they would be unsustainable are actually unsustainable if this is being peddled, who'd have thought it?

I think there were a lot of strings attached with the so-called "30k".
At least with the Friends of Kingstonian we can trust the Directors and Scott to put it to good use!
