No Supporter's travel, £20 if there was. Cheap day return £10. No wonder the mini-bus isn't popular it's twice the train price. A neighbour's work colleague supports Farnham and understands that Liddle was not welcomed into the K's squad and therefore returned to Farnham who have offered him a £20 a week pay rise.

It would be sensible if the SC did not run coaches at a loss. I would think the £20 cost per person of coach travel to Ascot would cover the expense of coach hire. The SC do not make profit on coach travel. People think they can travel differently for cheaper (£10 day return), then choose that. The superior cost of coach travel is not down to the SC, it’s down to coach companies charging too much for us to break even with demand.

I wouldn’t worry about Adam Liddle. Your “neighbour’s work colleague” probably has no idea of the facts just because he supports Farnham and it’s very much Chinese Whispers and rumour. If he prefers Farnham for an extra £20 good luck to him. Despite him looking good in pre season, I’d expect him to be a sub for us anyway.

Whilst accepting your views as valid, and the bottom line being that SC income doesn't match the expenses of subsidising coach travel I'm also sure if SC had enough income subsidising coach travel would be looked at.
Alas for some with mobility/health issues using other forms of travel, despite being cheaper is not an option.

Just to unpack that for a moment...

£20 for a coach, compared with £10 for a cheap day return on the train, is the main reason the Supporters Club didn't offer a coach service this evening. (Of course, the League throwing this rearranged fixture at us at short notice didn't help either.)

The SC can look at providing coach travel to games that are expensive and/or difficult to get to, and for which there is likely to be a good level of demand. I know that doesn't help you much, Senior, and I'm sorry. But we can't afford to incur the same losses as in recent years to run coaches to every game.
