There's a very good match report - and an excellent photo of Liam Kelly - on Ascot Utd's website. You can find a link to it on the SC Match Centre.

Ascot was very good fun on Tuesday. The racetrack behind the goal may be the best Isthmian Stadium background since the Concord/Canvey cargo ships. There was a healthy away turnout (60?) too.
As for the team: jinking right-winger Stan Flaherty was brilliant in the second half, Bradley "Bradders" Wilson looks a willing No9 and Palace Francis appears to play multiple roles (Ali Kazemi said we play with a "four-man box and rotating forwards").
Saturday is scarily important.

Stan did really well for W&H last season - I think he joined then - and the fans were surprised he did not sign for a club at step six.

From a far on the pitch a good start.Wil
Maybe 'Willing Wilson's perhaps - thou 'Willy Wilson'evokes the glory days of diminutive tricky Scottish wingers. Or just I'm old bloke casting a wandering mind back to the past.

Good posts. I like 'wingers'.
Wev'e not seen or been excited by wingers since Dean Lodge and Phil Williams. I loved watching that side under Dowse, best since our Conference days. Finger crossed for a good turnout Saturday and progress in the cup. It certainly is vitally important.

A very good win and my sons and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We will win most of our games with this proved and successful team. It is great that Scott built this team and got nearly all of them to join him at Ks. It is far better to watch a winning Ks team and I think the worm has turned there now.

Yes, a good win and performance.
As you rightly say, we have a proven squad and manager for
this level. We have Michal Gough to come back from injury and
we'll hopefully have the very influential and versatile Harry Mills
join up too. On to Satirday and the FA cup.
We Ks love a cup run, don't we?

Thanks John! Will Raynes Park Vale be able to host Isthmian Premier League football next season if the Ks get promoted? Certainly hope so on this showing!

My understanding is that Raynes Park Vale have plans for further ground development. They have made several improvements recently and I believe more are planned.

Great news that they are so happy to accommodate our return to the big time!

I think it is more that RPV have their own aspirations to gain promotion.

John can you confirm whether ks have entered the league cup this season?

I believe not. From the draw, it appears that only 40 of 66 step 4 teams have done so. If the third round is the round of 32 , it appears that ten Premier Division teams may not have entered.

Thanks John - shame the club decided not to proactively communicate this, nor explain the reasons - I know lots of fans really enjoy the competition, often a chance to visit new grounds and was our last silverware.

No one enjoys the Turvey, a competition robbed of its lustre by a disrespectful name change.

You 'believe'not?
Is it the directors decision as a whole as to
which competitions the club feels able to enter,
or not as the case may be?
