Today: K’s 2 RPV 4

You could construct a narrative that we were unlucky or hard done by today if you really wanted to - but that would be missing the point.

We can’t defend and we are easy to bully, frankly.

Some good stuff going forward again. There was one touch from Bradley in the second half that was worth the £5 to get in alone. We have such a lot of skill but a really soft belly and we are so poor off the ball.

I thoroughly agree with this.

Even if that early shot that cannoned off the crossbar had gone in, it wouldn't have changed how direct RPV were and made mincemeat out of Ks midfield and defence.

I couldn't remember them having to string more than 2 passes together when they went 0-2 up. Ks were keen to play the more aesthetically pleasing football when in possession but incredibly naive without it. Nothing changes in that approach and before you knew it the score was 0-4.

I didn't hear a peep from the coaching staff at any point in the game. Very strange. I'm not one for coaches that practically abuse their underperforming players but you could hear a pin drop from the Ks technical area. Shellshocked maybe but that was poor from them.

You mentioned nice touches, I actually saw a few but it's the score like that matters. Yes, there were some missed chances; a late point-blank save from their keeper in the first half, a clean through chance on the left hand side in the 2nd half... But the damage was done in the first half. Some players look like they can play and had a bad day at the office. On another day Flaherty could have influenced the scoreline more and it seemed their players knew it as their 13, 23 and even 15 gave him a physical game.

I'm also not one for singling out the players but Ks #11 (Roberts) looks a horrendous player. Losing possession, chasing shadows... normally you could excuse a player if things aren't coming off from them despite their clear best efforts but the guy looked completely out of his depth. I hope I'm wrong about him but I wouldn't give him another minute to prove me wrong if I were the coach.

The only person who had a worse day on that pitch was the man in black who seemed keen not to punish RPVs industrious tackling, gamesmanship and professional fouls. Their number 5 could have had as many yellows. Atrocious officiating.

Agree with you, playing out from the back was suicidal and we have a very soft belly in defence. We didn't learn from last week's blunders and looked very ordinary. Front runners worked hard but long throws have to be on target not to the opposition. Also nothing coming out from the dugout why was that? Why no PA announcements regarding teams and future match info?.

Agree with all the above. Can’t believe Robert’s was left in for so long, we actually looked a lot better and better balanced once he came off. Similar with Ujkaj

Think we also badly missed Munting in CM. We don’t seem to have a natural replacement when either CM are out, more asking FBs to fill in that position. Maybe Jack Lille, but you’ve got to trust him to play there over FBs if that’s the plan.

Let’s hope Gough is the best CB we’ve ever seen, to sort out some of the defensive frailties..

I think you can see a good proportion of this squad should be playing at a higher level… but sadly you can also see some are probably exactly where they should be and particularly with such strong contenders this year, your only as strong as your weakest parts…
