4-0 down again: same old story
Views: 1091
Being 4-0 down against any decent side is getting a bit dull, frankly.
We continue to look excellent in the middle of the pitch and play in lovely triangles away from the opposition goal. Sadly football games are won in both boxes.
I can’t be alone in being concerned that we seem to play exactly the same way every single week regardless of opposition? Better teams have figured out how to beat us easily. That’s a coaching failure, to be honest. I’m not really sure how anyone can argue it isn’t?

Don't worry ,we have been assured that we will win more games than we will lose, just not the right ones.

I think our main problems are in defence.
What is more troubling is player movement.
No Mark Lamaning yesterday? and, Reuben Duncan turned out for Guildford City in the FA Vase yesterday.
Both of these players had been playing reasonably well for us in recent games. I hope wer'e not going to have players come and go on the scale of last season. This is on top of releasing three players in the last couple of weeks. Maybe its a budget thing or, game time? If the board were relying on cup runs for revenue, that ship has already sailed. Maybe the club or Scott could address these points in the next online programme notes.

Depends what you mean by concerning… if expectations were we’d win/challenge for first it’s concerning. I think there’s still been evidence enough that we’ll at least challenge for play-offs and after the last couple of seasons I would take that for sure and obviously there’s still lots to build on and improve, I think we’ll only get stronger.
If the board have gambled with our finances to a point we virtually have to get promoted this season… then of course it’s extremely concerning. But surely that can’t be the case, surely?

I think it's more likely they gambled hoping for cup/Trophy runs which have not transpired.
"I think we’ll only get stronger" - if the players stay...
A successful season would be clear progress on a new ground, an improvement in comms & marketing (still a shambles) and a commitment not to draw down £25 000 of the dwindling AFC money to cover rent from 2025.
Today was very poor against a fellow Step 4 side. We're not secure enough at the back, albeit Gough looked good the first half-hour. Of course we'll finish top half in the league. I still struggle to discern "the project", however.

We already have. 10 points from five games as opposed to 21 from 42 last season.

Well you’d hope so wouldn’t you? We’re in a lower league and we’ve spent a whole load more money on players.

Success on the pitch is great, obviously. But compared to the long term survival of the Club, it is relatively unimportant.

Rex if any club should know success on the pitch is no guarantee for a stable future it's Ks.
If 'ring fencing ' AWFC compensation solely for rent or part /full ownership of a ground would have led to Ks being in a better situation now, will never know.Is the current situation, even in the medium term going forward sustainable?

A disappointing result but encouraging to see the boys still fighting at 4-0 down to get a goal back - and not for the first time this season!
Quite happy to have the cups out of the way so we can prioritise a league title push.

Why is a proven goal scorer playing in mid-field (Eddie Simon) and Palace running everywhere but to no effect? I liked Ruben But seemed to be out of favour with the manager. Defensively we look very sloppy hopefully when Gough is back to full match fitness we will improve.
