what's our thoughts on this?
Raynes Park is so much more enjoyable for me than the previous Merton ground, but I was quite surprised to see less than 200 in on Saturday. what are the reasons for that, do we think? is it the cup exits? or just what we expect at this level despite it being nice weather on a Saturday.
the half price promo seemed like a great idea? do we know how well it did? a waste there was seemingly no data capture involved with this.
we know that members of the board look here and decide which questions they wanna reply to. would be keen to know their thoughts.

A number of reasons I guess as to why supporters and potential match day enthusiasts are not coming to watch us and get the match day atmosphere but remember we have been the pits for such a long time now with a terrible ground situation and supporters being rough shod over almost everything.
The loyal supporter is still out there but it will be a long long road back for those so neglected and abused. They are rightfully hurt and sore and it will take a long time to get them back.A good cup run or league position may help and when anew attractive away fixture comes maybe some decent coach travel from Kingston or Surbiton where most supporters are not Kingsmeadow.
Once a Ks always a Ks but for now.

Agreed regarding the half price entry and data capture. Could have been an opportunity to get people onto mailing lists etc
I personally would have rather they did a ST hold bring a friend for half price or similar
Ground experience is far better at RPV.
I guess locally Surbiton did have their festival the same day
Ground announcement day beforehand may not have helped the mood either for people to leave their house to come and watch us

Earlier this year, the Supporters Club conducted a survey of the reasons into falling attendances.
The summary finding was that "The largest reason cited by respondents for not attending matches was “Governance” (dissatisfaction with the Chairman and Directors of the Club, especially regarding poor communication with the supporters). This was cited far more often than ground-sharing out of the Borough, financial considerations, or the quality of the football."

This reason still holds true for me. Have been to three games this year, more than I managed during the entirety of the Tooting years. Nice enough ground, RPV good hosts etc etc. But the fact that this is being kept afloat by drawing down on the Wombles money makes it all feel a bit wrong and artificial. Like splurging money on getting a late check-out from a hotel using the money that you need to put down for a deposit on a house.

Weirdly one person within the club told me they knew 80 people who felt the club was being run perfectly 🤣

I don't think Eddie Simon wants to read that he only scored four goals in the Surrey Senior Cup.

Went along last night - enjoyed the game and was good to see eight goals. Obviously the same level of atmosphere as the moon. Wonder how the players get motivated with small numbers and no noise?
As I declared in my first post on here I'm actually a T&M fan but Vale is less than ten minutes walk from home so have been to far more Ks games this season.
Kind of curious why people prefer Vale to Tooting as a ground (other than travel) - the sloping pitch and charming bijou lean to next to the stand perhaps or maybe the great rain cover behind the goals?

Tooting have no back to their stands which makes it cold and windy and takes the atmosphere away. Also Raynes Park doesn’t have water on the toilet floor from a persistent leak that never got fixed.
Raynes Park has an outside bar.
Tooting has a better pitch and doesn’t charge £6 a pint.
My biggest annoyance at Raynes Park is that they don’t have TNT so when we arrive on a Saturday lunch time there’s no Premier League match on the tv.

Some good points Damo.
There’s no doubt that T&M have a better ground (if I’m allowed to express a comparison opinion).
The match day experience at T&M was not great and many fans just did not travel to there for a variety of reasons or just boycotted.
I think the match day experience is better at RPV and they are club on the up but also are prepared to listen as to how it can be improved on our match days. I’m happy to discuss with the bar manager about this as she has been very forthcoming to myself and others about wanting to make it very much a Kingstonian club house when it is our home games.
I know that this is something that the football club board should be looking into but let’s face it, they don’t care what the supporters think. Luckily we have a Supporter’s club that do!

Agree about the bar manager at RPV. She seems very keen to make it work with Kingstonian supporters, which is great.

Agreed with making it as homely possible for us is a massive plus.
Even something as simple as having our crest so visible on the tills or on the side etc. it's the little things. Luckily all the RPV staff are Uber friendly and always been open to have a chat with the SC and all fans about how we can make things better for both parties

The boys are a group of friends who love playing for each other and wearing the famous red and white hoops. The days of primadonnas and inflated wages at Kingstonian are long done thankfully!
What Scott Harris is doing on a shoestring budget is nothing short of remarkable.

Music is a very much a personal thing but I'm with Damo, bland pop dirge for a team to come out to. Can't think of a more mediocre tune I've heard a time come out to. But hey it's only a personal opinion, others are available.

Does it matter if it's actually good? I don't really think about the song on a musical level but you can be anywhere and the second you hear EWTRTW it takes the mind to K's. There's something lovely about that.
SDG summed it up on here ages ago back when people were chatting Avicii, Fatboy Slim and all sorts of nonsense. The essence of his post was Tears for Fear is tradition and that's about all we've got right now.
Long live Tears for Fears.

Yes that was the gist of what I posted. We're homeless and should be doing everything we can to hold on to bits of our identity. The opening is instantly recognisable as Ks and it's a tradition dating back to at least the Peterborough cup tie in 1992, maybe longer.
And of course people can't even come close to agreeing on a suggested alternative. Either generic event pop like Fatboy Slim or 7 Nation Army, or totally random stuff that's nothing to do with Ks. At least Everybody Wants To Rule The World makes sense for a non-league club and the idea that however small you are, you dream of bigger things.

Just to finish this thread off in the context Jon started it, at Monday’s meeting with the board they seemed really happy that attendances are up as if it was some big achievement.
We were also told that there has been 70 kids at games (this is a good thing) but if you add that to the reported 72 season ticket holders (we know how they love to add this on) then that’s 59 paying customers at Saturdays reported attendance of 201.
Have a long hard think and tell me….is this sustainable?
