It was obviously abysmal defending by a team who have no clue how to do that part of the job. Some might question the manager and his tactics, but I'm told we're not allowed to do that so I won't say it.
It was all quite fun though, because none of it matters (see Taimour's excellent post above/below).
What fascinates me though is Bradley Wilson. We're constantly told that the players are all mates and are just happy to play with each other, but if that's true then Bradley's mates need to stage an intervention and tell him to leave. He is so far and away better than all of his mates, and could comfortably play at Step 2. He is wasting his talent on this team and if I was his mate I'd be honest with him and tell him there's more to life than being with your mates whilst being battered at Cobham.

This is going to be a long post, so bare with, as I look through this forum over time. Firstly, I want to start off by saying everything that gets said on here, regarding different topics, whether positive or negative, is fine. I won't be commenting on anything regarding the board & fans situation - that's solely between the SC & board to address over time. What I do want to address, is comments that have been made & what feels like the overall negativity surrounding the club (I'm very aware the board/SC/ownership relationship is a big part of that), which ultimately does impact us boys playing week in, week out. I'm not saying to ignore & not comment on any team performances/individual performances/management thoughts, but to be mindful that as outsiders, we have all come to this club for 1 reason & it's to get Kingstonian back to the level it once was. I am also doing this completely rogue, so anything I say is my own personal thoughts.
Firstly, I have not ran this past anyone to jump on here, so I'm hoping you see I'm doing this as, us players, want to have good relationships with fans and start to get better attendances at games, that will only happen if there's some form of relationship all round. What I would like to do as one of the players, is to start bridging the gap between us players & supporters. I've seen previously mentioned that some supporters feel they "don't really know us" as players & I completely appreciate that. I won't be heavily involved on this forum as I check it from time-time, moreso out of personal curiosity. However, if there's any questions/concerns people have, please feel free to address to myself & I can speak with the boys/management/whatever, to get clarity on anything football related.
I am completely understanding of people allowing to have personal opinions, as paying supporters so I'm going to start by addressing the recent one in this thread that solely mentioned myself.
Gary - whilst I appreciate the sentiment behind the compliment, I thought I'd provide some further context behind my decision & why you might understand better behind my decision to "get battered at Cobham". I'm a London boy born & bred who moved over to Basingstoke 3 years ago & now considering moving back to London, therefore Kingstonian is a local club considering family/friends all live in Surrounding boroughs. I completely disagree with your point around playing with friends - the players are some I've known for 10+ years in Mitchel Gough & moreso recently friendships I've developed with other players over the past few years. I also have a huge amount of admiration for Scott as a manager (and a person - my old Basingstoke Manager is the one who highly recommended me to play under Scott as he's one of the good guys in non-league) & he was also a big reason behind my decision, to hopefully get Kingstonian promoted again (which I still thoroughly believe we will do).
There has been a lot of comments about the defending side recently, again completely justified, however it should be targeted at all of us, not just the back 4 & keeper, who I have seen come scrutiny recently. We win/lose as a team & therefore attack/defend as a team. We are all not pulling our weight defensively, but I do believe we can work on it & change things. Scott & Martyn are the men to lead us to promotion & as a squad, we believe in them to fix the issues at hand. It is a very long season, it's not the same league that all of this squad played in 2/3 years ago when we got promoted at our individual clubs, therefore it's going to be a season with ups & downs. I'd like to think that we are all in this for the long run, behind Scott & come the end of the season, be back playing at Step 3.

Thanks for coming on here Brad, it's rare to hear from a player like this. I don't want to just totally repeat MC and Taimour but I think it's important to look at how long these problems go back.
In Scott's first interview as manager he acknowledged that the last few years at Ks have been traumatic - his words, not mine - but asked for fans to nonetheless get behind the team.
I totally get that as a sentiment and it's what you expect from a manager, or players. The fans do their best to do that and during games, we mostly do.
But for a VERY long time - I'd say from Khosla leaving in February 2005 (when Martyn was a player for us) right up to December 2021 (when the board announced we'd be moving to Mitcham) - as a fanbase we were much too passive about the running of the club, too happy to just enjoy good football while not challenging the running of the club.
We won promotion, two cups, had an FA Cup run, got to the playoffs twice and overall won a lot more matches than we lost. We also got to know the players and manager quite well - Dowse managed us for seven and a half years, lots of players got to 100 or even 200 games for us. On the pitch they were good times but off the pitch we allowed things to drift with no progress on a ground, or growing and marketing the club.
Since the last two disastrous years in Mitcham we've now woken up to the long-term trouble the club is in. We've become more politicised and we know we can't just allow a winning team to distract us from the long-term problems the club is in. The latest news about the ground is a disaster, even though it's one that many of us saw coming from a mile off.
None of that is Scott's fault and certainly not the players'. We're enjoying watching entertaining football again and we'll keep getting behind you on the pitch. But off the field we can't afford to get back into that same place of accepting the problems with how the club is run, just because the team is winning.

Thanks for coming on here and engaging.
The "behind the goal gang", as it's been known since the mid 90s, has been very consciously trying to support Harris and the team while also maintaining a critical distance from an unpopular Board.
Last season we finished bottom of the league, 23 points from safety, and there was barely a word against the manager, Simon Lane, nor the players who were doing their best. In fact Lane even attended a fans meeting about the direction of the club and the failures of the Directors.
The on-field/off-field distinction blurs slightly when it comes to playing budget. But that's not your fault or even Harris's. The new directors this summer promised not to use the AFC Wimbledon ground money but then promptly drew down £25 000 to pay rent at RPV. The new Board have shown scant capacity to market the club or inspire confidence. There have been other mysteries and breaches of trust. A newly appointed vice chairman, Steve Dormer, stepped down only 4 weeks after being appointed and we still haven't been told why. We don't expect the squad to be involved in any of that but, trust us, if Yiorgios ever suggests the fans are just troublesome malcontents targeting you all, it's not true. Our ire is aimed at Yiorgios and his yes-men. He's been a director at Ks for nearly a decade and has a sorry record of failure and fantastical half-truths.
Anyway, it's been fun watching you, we hope you all stay and the trip to Guernsey in April is a playoff push 6-pointer...

Firstly fair play to bradley wilson coming on here of his own back much respected as a menber of the playing team
The issue between the supporters club and board level is never going to be resolved sorry to say
The Board are not going to resign that is the fact of the matter. ( look at the money as well they have put in over years / time) also not forgetting prevous people even before mark/ malcolm etc
We all know we need a new ground and needs to be quick.
Anyone got any solutions to these issues ? As plenty of this is wrong that is wrong probally get in a ground and the bricks will be the wrong colour
Plenty of sack the board but what then ? Where do we go from there
The playing side this season I think are doing well considering the situation and the budget we are running off compared to other clubs. We have good players and a good management team.
Cup runs 1 answer is the Sittingbourne game why did we lose again down to budget - I do believe that we are on approx 2k per week Sittingbourne 12k maybe wrong numbers but just gives you an insight
Honest question
I await the thumbs down

Foley you are wrong on so many points!
This is not a unique supporters club issue, its a supporters issue.
You said last year at the protest which you supported the board on that the protest wouldnt acheive anything. The then chairman stepped down a week later.
Look at the money they have put in? Have you got acceas to the finances? Look at the hlaf a million pounds of AFCW money which has been wasted-why no comment on that Paul?
Lots of solutions have been discussed, have a read of some of the posts.
Where do we go from sack the board? Erm a board of competent people running the club, it really is that simple

Okay
You did say you are always approachable so fair play like rex and most
Do I know there finances no but how much do you think it costs to run a football club at this level ?
The 30k was that each a season or between you ? For how long ?
Was there a pay back scheme or something ?
The be all is we need a new ground and we all know that get that and we can move forward.
The team is a lot better than last season and just don't like the negative things on that.
I think Scott and the lads are doing well to be honest

Erm Foley
I wasn’t part of the KBH so I can’t answer most of your questions.
I think a lot of us have rough ideas on how much it costs to run a club at this level given former managers have previously given this information. I’ve also got contacts on boards at other clubs.
The ones who won’t tell us how much it costs are the previous and current board. What are they hiding?
Also why don’t you want to address the concerns fans are raising especially whilst we are on the subject, the AFCW money? You back this board but they can’t run the club without dipping into the fund despite saying they wouldn’t.

Hiding ?
I for one don't think that at all.
30k between ? That is not going to cover a lot to be fair but that is different opinions
Honestly I think This now has become far to personal rather than the football club side of things.
Not buy individuals but by groups and it ends up even worse tbh.
That's it folks good night

Hi Paul. For clarity since you've asked a couple of times: as per the BK post above (but expanded), our offer and commitment to the board of the time - and the fans/club - was a minimum of £30k per season AND stopping the draw down of any further AFCW money. I say minimum as we believed this was the shortfall from the limited information we were provided (none), based on what additional incremental income we believed we could bring in to the club on top of the £35k cash injection AND commitment to stop the draw down. We had the capacity to go significantly further if required; this was an initial, fully costed (to our understanding), offer. There were no cash return caveats to this offer. The only - hopefully understandable - caveat was that we had an appropriate say on how the cash was spent.
And I believe it's that last bit that was why this was sadly rejected. I'm not aware of any counter offer that comes anywhere near the cash, expertise and commitment to the future state of the club than the KBH offer; the other offers just allowed one person to retain/increase control.

Hey Paul, I think "There were no cash return caveats to this offer" answered your original question, but possibly not all your new questions since you edited your post. Not sure I can help will all of the new questions though; they look to be questions regarding actual costs of running the club, which we were denied access to, despite jumping through all the hoops asked of us at the time and being beyond (possibly too much) patient.

Only one side has proven to be dishonest and incompetent Paul.
You keep saying about getting a ground no easy etc. You need to stop listening to the lies being spouted by this board. There are a number of plots of land available to build a ground on in the Borough of Kingston upon Thames

Credit to you for taking the time to get involved Bradley.
Ultimately I think if there's been any sense of negativity towards the side, you've basically been caught in the crossfire between fans and board. That's not ideal but is the result of the board offering poor communication and (some of them) never turning up to matches. Some people just want to vent, rightly or wrongly.
I think there's been a bit of dissent towards the focus on playing out from the back and conceding some cheap goals, but I think that's probably the nature of non-league football. For what it's worth, I think the people who have been at matches have really enjoyed watching the attacking section of the side in particular. I know there's been some moaning, but to be honest I thought the fans were pretty fair and reserved last night when, with all due respect, you lads conceded six goals in the second half against a side second-bottom of the league!
In terms of us not knowing the players, I think this frustration is also a result of 3-4 years of constant chopping and changing, not just in terms of squad but in terms of our home ground. We've now had five different home grounds since 2017 (Kingsmeadow, Leatherhead, Corinthian Casuals, Tooting and Mitcham, Raynes Park).
The only link we had to (say) 10 years ago was Rob Tolfrey in goal. He was always going to move on eventually, but we have a bit of an identity crisis, and seeing a familiar face made it feel like Ks. Every summer we seemingly have to get to know a new ground, a new manager, 11 new players. That's not your fault and I don't think any of it is meant to be (and shouldn't be) personal.
You all seem like good players and good lads. If we had a solid plan for the future and a trustworthy board there wouldn't be any issues. I guess you've come from a club on the up and joined a club who have seen things go downhill. Hopefully you lads can change that direction of travel.

Thanks for the reply, Bradley; I'm sure everybody is pleased to hear directly from players.
I understand that you don’t want to comment on the situation with the board and the fans, but I think you need to realise that, for long-suffering supporters, what we see on the field is inextricably linked with the way that the club is being mis-managed by the directors.
You say that you believe that we’ll get promotion, and you may well be right. I think it’s clear that Farnham are firm favourites to win the league, so at best we’ll be in a four-way fight to go up through the play-offs.
But I would come back to what happened last season (obviously before your time). We surrendered our position in Step 3 with a voluntary relegation. Yet we now seem to be fighting tooth and nail – and spending a seemingly significant sum of money – to return to where we were before that surrender.
That would make little sense at any club, but when you factor in that at least some of the money being spent this season has come from the money that was supposed to be set aside for a new ground, it becomes inexplicable.
As for your personal situation, it’s obviously entirely up to you where you play, and I’m enjoying watching you play for Kingstonian, so long may it continue. But I’m thinking about my own situation when giving “advice” – I recently left my job, where I’d been for many years, because I wanted to challenge myself and do something better. In doing so, I said goodbye to a number of good friends, but I’m absolutely sure that it was the right move.
Anyway, best of luck on Saturday, and sorry for the problems you had registering on the forum.

If that happened.
Would we stay at the present ground which would require investment to upgrade it or
look elsewhere.

I as well was not there last night but have enough reports on the game from those who were there.
Remember as well Saturdays game was sliding the same way as last night before the refs full time whistle came to our rescue.
What is happening that we get a lead then proceed to throw it away. What is happening that take a lead and all confidence drains.
What is happening that we seem so fragile while knowing we are not.
What is happening ????
What is ongoing off the pitch as well to get the supporters back.I know some work has been done by the S.C. a little light down a long tunnel.
What is happening with the Board continually so out of touch.
Just what is happening.. .
