This club has become a soap opera. I have to recount to mates about what the latest ongoings at the club are each week for entertainment.
Too bad the board’s hasn't an ounce of marketing ability between them, the last 3years plus would have made a fantastic behind the scenes documentary, which they probably would have made a few quid from which would make them more likely to fuck off

Just envisioning the documentary I should have made…
Scene 1
Yioryos: We’ll hold a meeting with the fans every 12weeks if that’s what you want
Narrator: There was not a meeting in 3months time. The fans did not hear from the board for another 12months
Scene 2
Yioryos: I’m delighted to introduce you to our new board member and vice chairmen Steve Dormer, the man who has the experience to make our new ground a reality
Narrator: Steve Dormer did not make a new ground a reality. Steve Dormer was never seen or spoken about again
Scene 3
Yioryos: I never wanted to take money out of the AFC Wimbledon pot, I was against it and it won’t be something we’ll be looking to do with the new board moving forward
Narrator: But Yioryos did draw money out of the budget. He assembled an expensive squad, with a ground share rate which was the most expensive non league had ever seen. He tried to talk about separate costs and budget pots thinking the clubs fans were so stupid they don’t know how basic maths work… but the fans did know how basic maths works. The board however didn’t thinking an 17% rise in attendance from the clubs lowest point was something to congratulate themselves over.
Narrator: unfortunately I am now banned from the club for toxic and negative behaviour, so we will have to end here. The attendance is now 17% lower than Tooting and Mitcham but the board are confident they will build a ground in the borough of Kingston with the £1,890 remaining and that good times are just round the corner

Would say I'm disappointed but this seemed so inevitable, to the point that a few of us in pre-season were expecting he'd regret joining a club in freefall and not make it to Christmas.
In a way it was an ambitious appointment and in terms of coaching level (and calibre of players) we were punching above our weight. But for financial reasons we were rightly sceptical about whether this was a good use of our dwindling funds.
I expect Scott will go onto enjoy more success at a level above ours and I wish him the best. Equally, I think his demeanour has been pretty unimpressive during his brief spell in charge. I suspect he realised he made a mistake coming to us within the first couple of weeks.
It was also bizarre that his partner, while seemingly very pleasant, came around to stand with some supporters to fact-check our grumblings about the side and our budget (midway through a half where we conceded six goals against second-bottom of the league!) and threatened that "if you lot don't like the team, we'll just go to another club".
I mean, I don't blame him/them at all, but what a strange way to effectively announce your resignation!

To be fair, that 30 minutes from her was the most committed spell of defending we’ve seen all season.

"Scott's decision is solely based on the fact that he's not enjoying football and specifically managing our football club in the current toxic environment created by a segment of our supporters."
An absolutely disgraceful lie from the chairman.
There is no toxic environment. We lost 7-4 on Tuesday to a team that had scored 5 goals all season and there was no abuse aimed at players to managers. We've conceded 3 or more goals six times already this season, despite clearly a big player budget. No abuse. No toxicity.
If the chairman wants to present evidence of a toxic environment, he should do so, or retract what's he said.

I’ve read this again
Maybe I’m interpreting it wrong but a) the former manager wasn’t enjoying football anyway. And the toxic segment doesn’t refer to people hounding out the manager or any back room staff, just any fans at odds with the board of directors, which is true. This isn’t that uncommon in football (or presumably other sporting organisations generally)

Problem is Mike, that’s not what he said in his quote.
It’s the board’s statement who have been trying their hardest to drive a wedge between the supporters and the players/management.
There has been no abuse or toxic behaviour towards the players or management from the supporters who have been behind the team from the outset.
The only toxic behaviour is from the board with lies like this and their treatment towards the supporters!

By him, I guess you mean the departed manager
Yes,. The quote came from our unesteemed chairman. Should have specified that
Evidently at least one player and a former assistant manager feel that some things have been said that thry don’t like as it involved them directly. We need to be very mindful of this. I hope we can keep the player at least

To be fair outside this statement Brad Wilson has also said the ‘statement is very telling’ and ‘seeing what shitshow this man has endured from people who want to associate themselves with the club, shambolic’ and ‘ boundaries have been crossed that you might not be aware of that have driven his decision’
So it does seem like there has been something between Scott and others, seemingly not the board, which most of us aren’t aware of. But I don’t understand what the cloak and dagger silence on it is about. If we don’t know what it is we can’t look to address it. The only rationale explanation for not stating exactly what’s gone on is there are some sort of legal proceedings being drawn.
I don’t think we can seemingly lay the blame for the silence/lack of clarity at the board trying to drive a wedge between the playing staff and team (to be clear I want the chairman and the board out as much as anyone) because if it was surely Harris would just come out and clear up the actual reasons.

This post last week from the then assistant manager also seems to corroborate that the management team were unhappy with something fan related.

Funny clip to use: The manager in that video left Ks because he found the current chairman a nuisance and impossible to work with.

Nobody disputes there has been a bad atmosphere at the Club recently. And I've no doubt that affected the Management team.
The question is why has there been such a bad atmosphere? And the answer lies in the way the Chairman is destroying the Club and alienating the supporters.

Well actually no. Harris will have future employers looking at how he left clubs etc so rightly has to play to political game to look after his future prospects. Also there is no way the board would put out a statement that's negative on their side

I’m sorry but that’s total bs, but I can’t voice my opinion without being partly blamed for this so a few. Hopefully Foley, you and a few others will smell the coffee & see that some of us make some valid points. We’re in a democratic country where you can express opinions on things like football. It’s not China or the Democratic Republic of North Korea
I’m more pissed that Ks go goal crazy while I’m away & now I’m returning to a shitshow.

Just wondering why this is the first time that you have decided to pick on someone's spelling/grammar on this forum?
There's usually several examples of wrong spelling/grammar on here every few days.

Message deleted. Apologies to Foley.
What I should have said is: As far as I know there is no "toxic environment created by a segment of our supporters", and the fans have actually been very supportive of Scott and the players. Your "Great work guys" message implies that it is messages posted on this forum which are responsible for what has happened, when all evidence suggests not.
If one or more supporters have done something ridiculous away from here then that should be condemned and dealt with by both the club and the SC.

Off the pitch has just been chaotic as you’d expect this season - there’s clearly been no plan. Just a chairman making it up on the hoof.
On the pitch though we’ve just conceded 6 in a half to a team that’d scored five in their 7 previous league games, our goalkeeper has literally gone on holidays during the season and going by recent comments the management team were clearly rattled.
Only a matter of time, I guess.
When Scott’s players inevitably leave - group friendships and all that -does this mean we can save some of the AFC money? Hope so.
Enjoy H&Y, lads!
