SACK THE BOARD
Views: 1430
Talk of whether or not RPV will upgrade the ground next season is totally missing the point.
Our only priority is finding a home in the Borough but Yiorg and pals have fucked it up. Those twats are nowhere nearer finding a ground than when Ando declared it was in our best interests to leave Kingston SEVEN YEARS & SEVEN HUNDRED THOUSAND POUNDS AGO.
The only question K's fans should be discussing is whether we wait for the inevitable death (3-5 years?) or start a new club straightaway.
If the gang of four won't step down and give the club to the fans, then it's time we start our own.

Why give the club to the misfits who are in charge now
the supporters can and should make it so uncomfortable
that they realise the only way is out.
This club has for as far back as I can remember had
people in charge who were inept but they eventually
go it will be no different with these we unfortunately
Have now.
Remember this is OUR club,it's been mine since 1964.

Like you O@G,been seeing Ks from mid sixties, but even if the proposed regulated comes to be it won't apply to clubs at our level
So outwith a few clubs, the many will remain, outside belonging to the fans emotionally, in the hands of shareholders for good or ill. Supporters can try and force change in ownership,or like many Ks fans just withdraw their support but most clubs will continue to belong to the shareholders.

But unless a fans organisation is set up as a legal entity and starts to seriously raise funds this is of little substance. I have offered to gift my shares to such an organisation if one is set up.. Just moaning and being rude to Yioryos won’t achieve anything.

So question, I have been following the situation at Kingstonian for a little while and it seems that the current shareholders are content with keeping the club at all cost, taking from the fund to continue to operate. That said, what incentive would there ever be to sell at this point? What amount would have to be raised to actually do something? I am asking as someone who could possibly help, but I highly doubt there is any interest in selling.
It feels like a lose lose situation for the fans, either let the current shareholders run the club into the ground, then lose your history, or try to raise funds to convince the board of something they never will want to do. Just an opinion, but am I seeing things wrong?

It's the future that's looking lost, and all that will be is the clubs history.
I'd think Ks shares are worth very little and as the AFCW money dwindles away they are reducing in value.
Wouldn't Ks shares have been better value before AFCW compensation was used?

John, as always, your heart is in the right place. But, however kind your offer might be, what value can we place on your shares?
At present, you own a minority share in a company owned and controlled by the Chairman. That company's only assets are a franchise to play under the name Kingstonian FC in the Isthmian League (essentially, just the goodwill of the supporters - diminishing every day) and an escrow fund that can only be spent on a stadium that we have no prospect of finding. I'm struggling to put a value - either financial or strategic - on those shares, especially if they were transferred to a supporter group...
If the status quo prevails, and you were to gift those shares to (eg) a Ks Supporters Trust 2024, they would be worth no more financially because Ks is essentially a busted flush, and would be worth no more strategically because the Chairman owns a majority and would never yield control. If the Club is controlled by % shareholding, then Yioryos will forever more control it. If the Club is controlled by OMOV (one member one vote) than your offer would only be valuable if you could persuade two of Jim Page, Ben Flatt and Paul Forrester to join you in your gift. And even then, Yioryos would simply appoint more Directors to out-vote any 'rebellion'.
If the opposite comes about (Kingstonian FC goes bankrupt in a few years) your shares would by definition absolutely have no financial value. And as far as I know, nobody has ever worked out what would happen to the escrow fund if a phoenix club came into being.
Or have I missed something? I'm really not trying to piss on your chips, John. I'm genuinely curious.

Let's not pretend that the supporters being rude to Yioryos is a one-way street. If he (and his wife) want to scream obscenities from the stands at the few supporters that still come to games, it seems a bit rum that you, as a fellow Director, should come on here to complain about it.

I agree John being abusive is not the way to go
that applies to the chairman as well , I do take
umbrage with somebody feeling the club belongs
to them, yes he is the major shareholder but surely
Alienating the supporters is not the route he should
be going down because the danger is that some day
he won't have a club that he thinks is his.

Sometimes you have sympathy for both views
The supporters out of utter frustation and JB for his way forward.
It is vital at the moment to support the team and management in our current positive position on the pitch. It is so much of importance to stay positive even with such negativity abounding so often understandably so but to keep the players with us is of upmost importance.

agree, and i think the most obvious example of fans remaining positive is people talking about a new club.
we all know the current entity will die relatively soon, and it's great to see that people are talking about what next. nowhere near anything you could call a plan, but some sort of positivity at least
