All my life so, nearly 67 years. Earliest memories from when I was about 10.

Hi David. My first game was in 1953. My dad took me and my brother and we sat in the Richmond Road stand. I was only 5 at the time but from that day I was hooked.

Wow, you beat me by a good few years. I wasn’t born until December 1957. I have a memory in a very big picture frame of the programme from the day I was born. It was Saturday 7th of December . I was born at home in Chessington at around 10:30 in the morning. After my Dad was happy that all was OK, he went to the game at Richmond Road. It was versus Barnet and K’s won 3-1.

I was also born at home in Kingston in May 1958.
It wasn't until 1967 when my Father first took me to Richmond Rd to see Ks vs Chelmsford City in the FA cup.
I was 9 then and these days, you see parents taking babes in arms to Premier lge games. Like you David, been hooked ever since.

I might be way off target but I think we drew and then went to Chelmsford for the replay and lost. Still very happy days though.

Yes, it was a thrilling 3-3 draw.
I think we lost the replay 0-1.
I'm sure Chelmsford were in the Southern league then.

Yes, I think they were Southern League. I went to the replay and it must have been around Nov 5th, as I seem to remember fireworks being let off either in the ground or just outside.
From memory I think we were very unlucky to lose that game.

I was there. The replay was held on 6/11/68. The score was 5-3 to City after we went 2-0 up. We missed the first goal as we arrived about 10 minutes after k.o.
I believe the crowd was around 4000. Fun and games on the way back when the supporters club coach "invaded" a pub in Essex where no coaches were allowed.
Keith.
Why worry, be happy.

I think you are right. We had them on the rack at Richmond rd as well and should have won. I think it was a 4th qualifying rnd tie and there was a chance of drawing a higher or league club in the 1st rnd proper. Strangely enough, the years following and through the 70s and early 80s were pretty barren until we left Richmond Rd for Kingsmeadow.

I remember Ks scored another to go 4-2 ahead, only for a belated (and obviously dubious) offside flag to be raised.
My earliest memory is the 1960 Amateur Cup Final, although I imagine I had gone to matches before then.

Superhoops7,if my memory of that game is anywhere near true that was a game to get anyone hooked on football. What a game to be your first.
