Matchday volunteers

Had a few comments from Ashford fans on Saturday that there were no stewards and no matchday announcer (players names, etc).

Maybe Yiorg's volunteers were all out scouring Kingston for a new ground?

Please can we have teams and goalscorer announced
Over PA system, add subs to that.

Only time the PA is used is for 50/50 draw .

Tbh, I don’t pay attention to what’s said, I hear music from it & 50/50 but I don’t know what else is said from the system. Partly as it’s not loud compared to others in the league I’ve heard

NO team line ups, NO goalscorer and NO sub information,
Only music and 50/50 draw, if that can be done why not the
above,it all goes toward the match day experience don't you
Think.

I used to think (ie I'm not sure) that PA announcements like team lineups, scorers, substitutes, etc, were a League requirement - but now I simply believe they're a minimum standard for a decent matchday experience.

You are right,it's a requirement by the governing body ,who I don't see making anything of Yorgis and his remark about his club,of which he is only a custodian ,and a disastrous one at that, finishing off what Anderson Winwright and Fenwick left to finish off.

Pretty sure someone does that anyway, I’ve heard him on the mic multiple times this season. The only problem is the speakers aren’t that good, but that’s out of our control. Not sure if he was in attendance on Saturday though. Not sure if I saw him

I miss the match day announcements etc
And Tears for fears playing as the team comes out,
Now it's played at the end of the game 🤦‍♀️
Yes the match day programme is online,
But not everyone wants to check/read that at a match
Is there anyway of getting a paper team sheet before a game ??

Agree about Tears For Fears. Yiorg promised its return to the 2.59pm slot two weeks ago... it has not returned.

Team sheet is a good idea.
Westfield did one when we were there.
At least we know who's playing.

Its a very good point you make regarding volunteers and stewarding.
More worrying that like you, I haven't seen any form of stewarding present
during the recent run of 'home' games.
I don't know if there is a 'legal' requirement to provide matchday stewards
over or under a certain figure of attendance.

This doesn’t men. Presumably the police and local authority relevant to the area can request/demand stewards, cf what happened at Spelthorne Sports on Saturday (match abandoned after crowd trouble in the immediate aftermath of a goal in the 90th plus 12th minute)

Regarding PA announcements- yes we need one. Presumably for emergency purposes primarily. That’s in the linked regs

So a round up of things we would like to see.
A solution to the high step into the stand ,
The PA system operating and the presence of
a steward.
By the way if a certain number of people gather
Is it not against H and S not to have a steward
On duty.
Somebody may know the answer to that.

Definitely a step up to the stand, the amount of people who struggle to get up there including me 🤷‍♀️
Something needs to be done before there is a really serious accident,
We have seen several people also fall on their way down,
As lovely as it is to share a local ground
It Definitely isn't disabled friendly
