High steps
Views: 1024
As you are aware the first step(s) into the stand are
way too high and many of us climb them at our own
peril.
I was recently informed by a Kingstonian Supporters
Club member that the chairman was to mention
The problem to RSV, has he done this and if not
when will he.

Totally agree
The ground is definitely not disabled friendly,
And when you do negotiate the massive first step to the stand & finally sit down, it's impossible to let anyone pass you ,
The walkway is very slippery when wet,
Having so many uneven levels & steps
They really should be highlighted more,
I wonder how RPV supporters feel about it all
They surely can't be happy
Definitely unacceptable & accidents waiting to happen

So is anybody listening , is somebody from the club
able and willing to confront RPV and get some action
from them.

I think you raise an important point and one that needs to be addressed. I am an occasional reader of the forum (as my Uncle used to take me to Ks when I was a kid) and would also agree with those citing the entrance way and parking as an issue.
A lot of work has been done on our ground in recent years (as those of you have visited before you moved in could see) but it's a work in progress. I'm hoping that as a small club getting used to hosting bigger crowds at a level we haven't much experience of that we'll be able to keep improving our ground to meet fan's needs.
You can contact the Director of Operations via /www.raynesparkvale.com/contact and I'm sure all feedback, when kept constructive, will be taken on board. I've had a period of ill health and probably won't get to a game in 2024 but will look to raise it in person next time I am able (all being well the game between our clubs on New Year's Day). I'm just an ordinary fan with no role at the club but every little helps one hopes.
I know you'd rather have your own ground or share with a Kingston club but I hope it isn't a completely miserable experience being here and all the best for the season ahead and hopefully a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all Ks fans!

What a refreshing post there from a RPV opinion and recognised that safety worries are not personal and against RPV.It is of coarse a few points as to safety which will affect both supporter groups.

I am pleased if not delighted that people are talking about difficult situations for those not so fit or able to access high steps or other obstacles that have to be negotiated just to attend a match at RPV.
The disabled are often seen as moaning when they find getting about difficult but they only hope where possible they can go where others may go.Sometimes it is difficult but often there is more that could be done.
Getting to Kingston is not difficult to catch a bus for most but Kingsmeadow not so easy.
Again is anyone looking at those with disabilities although it comes with difficulties.
The less able can have a functioning brain and the ability to help in many ways but with poor access they can't make it.

They are dangerous. Whoever built the stand had no idea about spectator safety and is an accident waiting to happen. I hope Raynes Park Vale are insured for Accidents caused by this and any claims made against them.

I totally agree with you how on earth the ground passed
a safety certificate is baffling as I've seen people even
finding the uneven steps on the terracing difficult to
negotiate.
What I find even more baffling is why RPV
supporters seemingly have made no attempt to
Rectify the problems.

Disability friendly the ground is not! Wooden ramps on the decking slippery when wet, uneven walk ways, and nobody enforcing the DON'T stand in front of the stand you cannot see the match. from the lower seats.

When we eventually get round to building a new ground, these are great suggestions and we need a ground that’s accessible for all and these things need to be considered and implemented.
