Game OFF
Views: 1222
Today's game has just been postponed owing to one area of the pitch being deemed unplayable.
From our own correspondent: "Apparently, the Referee said if both teams want to play then the game will go ahead.
MetPoliceFC manager said no. I'm on the pitch. It's fine #NonLeague"

What sort of nonsence is all this?
Since when does an opposing manager get to call
a match off? I'm on my way to the game FFS!

It’s unacceptable. Got a notification from FWP at 2pm stating game postponed.
A.

But genuinely: postponed for what? It’s hardly rained for a week and it hasn’t been below freezing either!
What’s even happened here?

Why no notification of a pitch inspection from the club?
Why is the referee conducting a pitch inspection at this late stage anyway?
If its true that Met police manager didn't fancy playing,
Shouldn't they be fined and forfeit 3 points to us?
This is not acceptable and very confusing.
Can someone from the club concoct a statement of explanation
and quickly? Not to mention the possible wasted provisions and costs to the SC for the xmas party which will now run with
reduced numbers.

Absolute disgrace feel sorry for people travelling
further than my 10 minute drive.
WHY if it's true that the ref deemed it playable
was the away team manager able to veto it
We should be awarded the three points.

Unfathomable decision by the ref , he should not
have given the managers the option in the first place.
I think the Mets manager will get some stick when
The match is finally played.

There was a small bit of mud either end of the pitch, the referee gave both teams the option of calling it off; Met Police pretty much begged the referee to call the game off from what I’ve heard.
They are a disgrace of a club, the game should have been played. A club with no fans or even police for that matter don’t care about the impact it has had on RPV, the Supporters club Christmas party and The Kingston Carer’s event!

If this is all true, then Met Police should be deducted points, fined and ordered to pay compensation.
I've never heard of a referee at senior level, offering the visiting club an option not to play, without good reason.
This cannot be within the rules. This fixture should not be re-arranged, Ks should be awarded 3 points and the referee should be suspended. Still no explanation from the club.
Something is clearly not right. Its a disgrace.

All jokes aside surely the pitch may well have played into Met Polices favour if it wasn't 100pc.
Strange strange decision.
Everyone in the ground and clubhouse was shocked when there was even a mention of it being called off. The players reactions on twitter I think says it all.

This is shocking
My pal called me to say it was off he got there about 1450pm and meet someone coming out who said it was off.
He went to look at the pitch and said it was fine.
The met had players out I bet and did not fancy it and thought that may have lost heavily so went down this route very poor though.
As for the officials again poor from them and I think the league needs to look into this.
The club I feel should make an offical complaint to the league as well as this is not on.
It is a rearranged game that was not needed.
I feel sorry for the ground staff at RPV who I feel are doing a great job on the pitch ( how does this make them feel)

Well said,Not Police should have points deducted and fined we should be awarded 3 points. Makes a mockery of the officials who have let the club and the league down what a lot of rubbish the Not Police club are!

No fan of the Met but they don't have a long injury list and were okay to play the game. They struggle to get a full squad for midweek games so don't see how postponing this for non-genuine reasons benefits them.
