What a shame. Had family and friends coming today.
Gonna get into a fixture back log with the worst of the
Winter yet to come.

They should never be allowed to play in English leagues
There’s a perfectly good league a short ferry trip to the Contentin peninsula- they could be playing a derby against US Ouest Contentin, based a few km’s north west of the port of Les Caterets (direct links to St Peter Port)

On the contrary, the only good thing about being in this tinpot league is the away trip to Guernsey!

Yeah
And then the match is called off when you’re stranded in Guernsey

The bigger question is why Ks were given Guernsey as a xmas derby match ....

Well, if we accept that Guernsey are allowed to be in the Isthmian (and I know not everyone agrees with that) then they have to play someone on Boxing Day. Maybe Moneyfields (near Portsmouth) would have been an easier game for them to get to?

I have no problem with Guernsey being in the English pyramid system or, Jersey for that matter. If Jersey came up to the Sth central, their festive fixtures would kind of take care of themselves if they stayed in the Islands to play each other over the holiday period.
We might then face our natural 'local' opponents in RPV, Leatherhead, Met Police or, even SCR.
I'd spare a thought for 'Islanders' though.
They must face considerable travel costs, almost every other week. Do they get help from the FA or the league for travel?

I used to work at Gatwick Airport and would see them come through to fly back home after their Saturday fixture, when I spoke to them they said the league subsidies their travel for away fixtures and for all teams that have to play over there.

And how many times do they fly to matches?
Guernsey, like Jersey, is an island off France. Just off the coast of France. You pass them both closely going to St Malo by boat.
It’s stupid. It’d make more sense for RC Calais to play in an English league than any team from the Îles Anglo-Normandes

What a load of old rubbish. It's not solely about proximity, it's to do with Guernsey / Jersey's status (as self-governing dependencies of the British Crown), it's obvious why they are affiliated to a league over here and not one in France,
What next? Tenerife should move to the Moroccan leagues as it's quite a lot way from Spain? Bastia should play in Serie A because it's closer to Italy than France? Newcastle is closer to the Scottish border than their closest Premier League side so let's shift them into the SPL?
See you in the Wetherspoons at Gatwick on Easter Monday.

I think the whole reaction from large parts of Kingstonian had been a load of old rubbish, not just on the forum but Facebook and Twitter as well.
Let's face it we've had a very minor inconvenience of a home game called off with a few hours' notice. This happens all the time anyway given the general state of pitches in this division, including our own (which has five teams regularly playing on it).
The Kingstonian reaction to this has been to pretty much accuse them of lying about their flights being delayed (they weren't), claim they never wanted to play the fixture (nonsense, as if they want to do it midweek), and have them kicked out of the league (including to a foreign country).
Nearly all of the cost, risk and inconvenience of Guernsey being in this league falls on them, not everyone else. The Ks reaction to this has been ridiculous.
Like MC I'm looking forward to that first pint in the airport and hopefully a fun weekend. Some of us have been looking forward to playing Guernsey for years.

Yes, I was hoping that Jersey would be in there as well but they got relegated.
Looking forward to a few days in Guernsey; should be great.

Spot on, SDG.
Separately, on the subject of French football/geography raised by Mike, part of the magic of the Coupe de France comes from the participation of teams in the DOM-TOMs. Think a trip to Guadeloupe or Martinique might even outdo Macclesfield.
