Is there a Mini-bus to match, last bus from Farnham is 19.04 with no buses after the match!

Sorry, Senior. There just isn't enough demand for minibus services at the moment. Club's dying.

This is becoming really stupid, no notification of Away travel on Supporter's web-site and now being told that there is no interest in running a mini-bus in the evening to Badshot Lea. There is no local buses after 19.04 from Farnham and nothing after the match.

This is really sad. It's quite clearly because we're losing fans and not attracting any new ones. This is absolutely on the decisions and direction of the board(s) over the last few years. A group of Kingstonian fans tried to address this and many other issues, but their offers were rejected to keep one person in control.

Who are you calling stupid?
The Supporters Club has really pushed the idea of coaches to a couple of games recently and come nowhere even close to attracting enough interest.

The last coach which we had to cancel which was the Badshot Lea game which ended up getting cancelled we didn't even have enough people booked to even pay the driver let alone the rental/fuel.
I don't myself arrange travel but the people on the SC that do take it very seriously and we are always looking for reasons to run coaches as opposed to not running them.
Reality is we cant magic people onto to the coach or force people already going to take the coach instead, and it's starting to get to the stage where it'll be cheaper to request Minicabs as opposed to a minibus (and maybe that has some merit to look into), Long gone are the days of a Coach for away travel.

Senior, we simply cannot keep running at a loss to suit one or two people.
If the service is going to run, it will be advertised.
Maybe you would like to help organise the mini bus in future and encourage others to use it?

Most fans I have spoken to find the cost too expensive and therefore make their own way to away matches. This is fine but it does not help fans with mobility problems.

This is currently a vicious circle.
Not enough fans are interested which makes costs high, the high costs put people off travel, further reducing demand, further inflating costs.
For example: coach costs £100 to hire (no idea of the actual costs, just doing easy maths), 10 people choose to travel, that’s £10 each travel fare. Ideally, people see this as a good option and want to travel by coach, doubling bookings to 20 people and costs reduce to £5 each travel fare. However, realistically, if you get only 5 people travelling the costs double to £20 each. People don’t want to pay £20, it’s too expensive, so 3 pull out meaning 2 people now travel at £50 each. 1 of those people says it’s cheaper to travel by train, meaning 1 last person, who has additional mobility needs, either pays £100 or the coach doesn’t travel. Or, membership fees rise so all members are subsidising travelling at a loss, which I guess would be an option at the next SC AGM.
This was a problem that manifested under the previous regimes of both the previous SC committee and the previous club board and wasn’t addressed and left to fester. Now, bear in mind that the former chairman ran a coach company and gave neither the players nor the SC discounted travel.
I know what I’ve written gives no solutions, but it does give some background reasoning.

Something I have been thinking about for a while. Those driving to games and those wishing to attend can register with the SC for a “get me to the game “ scheme. The drivers can enter what game they are attending and how many spare seats they have and the SC can match them with those wanting to attend who may have used the coach if one was running. Most fans live within a relatively small area so might work. Could even be used for home games

We would encourage all Ks fans who are driving to an away game to consider whether they could offer a lift to others who are less able to travel independently. The Supporters Club is happy to act as a clearing house for all such offers and requests for help.
Thank you.
Absolutely
As per the away travel page on the SC site. There is also an email address to contact there.

In response to some of the points above:
Firstly it’s not possible to reduce the cost of the service. The mini bus is costing something like £200-£300 per trip. I posted some time ago about the losses made to the Supporters club being £1000 two seasons ago and £2000 the season before that on just minibus travel alone.
We looked into alternative mini bus suppliers and no one is as near cheap as RAKAT, so some credit is due to John Bangs and others for sourcing this option in the first place. We did enquire with Anderson about a mini coach and this would be about £600 per trip.
Again if only a few people are using the service then it is not financially viable to continue and has to be offered on demand if there are enough people to make it so we don’t continue running at a loss.
Some good points being made about car sharing, this is something I’ve been doing for years and never have a spare seat. Eagle also drives and has always has a full car (7 seater).
Ollie makes some very good points about this being a sign of the times, I’m not going to go into that on this thread but certainly will address that with a bigger narrative in the coming weeks.
