How much?

Does anyone know how much filthy lucre the weirdos on the board want in order to p$€s off?
I’ve been on the outside so long…it just seems crazy that the munsters seem to be hanging on to the club.
What’s their price just to get lost?

Sadly, I believe at least one of them will want their “money back”.
In other words, those of us who would have never made such stupid and bad decisions will be asked to pay the full cash value of those stupid and bad decisions.
Obviously that’s ridiculous. And isn’t going to happen. By all means piss your money up the wall but don’t ask me to pay for it.
And one other director clearly doesn’t care about any of that…he just wants to be in control of the club at any cost.
That’s even worse.
Unless they change their tune the only future is an Enfield town scenario while they continue to mismanage the original club into Enfield 1894.

To us in the real world the club isn’t worth anything. Their shares are worthless, the club has no assets and exists in name only.
When we met with the board earlier in the season as is minuted Jim said ‘have you got £20k’ at which point Yioryos intervened and said he would block that sale when I offered to raise the money to buy him out.
We will be looking to hold a fans forum at the end of the season to discuss our future and the next steps including around forming a break away club given we feel like we’ve exhausted all avenues with this board. I know there is an appetite from a number of key players in making a breakaway club happen but we have to absolutely be sure that it’s the right thing to do and that enough people will help to make it work.
We’ve seen the board literally stick two fingers up at the supporters, it’s been twelve months since the takeover-no plan, no engagement with the fans, no ground, a handful of volunteers left, less than half the AFCW money remaining, low crowds, no marketing, fans staying away-I could go on and on but I think we know what we are getting from this board. The bar was set with the previous board yet it’s now been lowered. They did tell us more than once to ‘go and form your own club.’
I look around at what supporters we have left; some brilliant people with an amazing variety of skills and I think why are we still here putting up with these people that are running the club into the ground. It’s clear they will never have the backing of the majority of supporters, many have stepped back from volunteering roles and many also no longer act as sponsors(through the different formats) or even purchased a season ticket due to the lack of transparency around the clubs finances and confidence in the boards ability to run the club.
Kingston needs a football club and Kingstonian are no longer a Kingston club. I have been contacted by a number of individuals and interested parties who hold the same opinion of many supporters about starting again. Some of these are real business people, people who actually want to make this work for the supporters and the people of Kingston and not just for their own ego and a few of their mates.
Like the old Enfield Kingstonian as we know it could just end up being the board and couple of mates loitering in Combined counties 1, all because they are too arrogant and wanted control rather than exploring the art of the possible for the club they claim to love.
So yes, at the end of the season let’s have that serious discussion about where we go next!

I don't see the point in waiting until the end of the season. If the appetite is there, then there could potentially be a whole season without football, if the decision is taken to start again at that stage.
The deadline to submit applications to the CCL may already have passed and I know you need to have a ground or groundshare in place by March. It may be that the new club goes the step 7 route, but it would be wise still to have these discussions earlier in order to give the new club time to apply for the league and meet any ground grading for next season.
A team in our league has been hopping from ground to ground following a series of issues with their initial agreed groundshare after the host club got into financial issues, so the league can be quite flexible in certain circumstances. Most of the teams in our league groundshare, and this hasn't proved to be too big a barrier to going up, so it is doable to start again and make it work.

Will the timing of any discussions also impact on the extent of any wider enthusiasm for a breakaway side? If full consideration of this is left until the end of this season and K’s manage to get promoted with Scott Harris and the bulk of the current squad signing up to stay for the 25/26 season then surely the majority would rather watch the current team have a go in the Isthmian Premier League rather than watch a breakaway club in Step 7 regardless of their feelings on the wider running of the club.

For someone who may already be swaying to the idea of a breakaway club I don't think promotion will be a relevant factor in anyone's enthusiasm at all if it isn't at least coupled with some bullet proof stadium plans. What K's do this season or next on the pitch isn't the rationale behind any of this so it wouldn't be logical for a promotion alone to appease anyone.

Such short-term thinking.
Managers and players come and go. Who's to say that Scott and his squad won't all end up at Leatherhead next season??

I think you’re right about the majority of people who currently watch the team
I don’t think you’re right about the majority of people who would watch Kingston’s football club
I’m confident sponsorship levels would be considerably better on the fairytale breakaway and certainly include my businesses in that.

Unless the board finds a better solution then the current and passed ground tenancy agreements post Kingsmeadow
it looks unlikely there will a viable club when the AFCW compensation runs out.

Even if we do go up we would be returning to the league which some supporters say we took a ‘voluntary’ relegation from last season.
Whilst I have enjoyed watching the team this season, this league is the poorest in terms of quality I’ve seen Ks at. This and last the last two seasons have produced the lowest crowds I’ve seen at the club in over 25 years, fundamental change is needed. This current board was never the answer.
There is no long term plan for the club, they rely on supporters good will and deep pockets and have taken us for granted for too long.
Did the previous board sell to the ‘Yioryos consortium’ because more of the same was offered? No business plan, no marketing plan, no communications? A nice parting gift from the previous board aligning with the utter contempt they’ve had for supporters for the past 15 years!
We’ve been kept in the dark and continually lied to so why should we continue with this when it’s clear we as a supporters group will do better collectively?

We are doing okay just don't think we are ready for that yet.
Sure a few fans maybe in the same boat

Mad isn’t it? Chairman put out a statement at the end of last season saying we couldn’t afford to operate at that level, and this season they’ve spent a load of money trying to get us back up there!

Our crowds are probably too low for the prem. If we were in the prem this seasons average of 270 would put us 5th from bottom and that average is inflated by the Raynes Park and Farnham games.

Not sure it makes sense to talk about our average being inflated by two games this season, when we’d be playing teams with much bigger fanbases if we got promoted.
(Though I agree that I’m not sure we can afford to)

Two of the five Clubs listed are very likely to be relegated so won’t be in the Premier next season.
All that promotion will achieve is a faster burn rate for the Wombles money,
Whilst we may get a few more away fans by playing better supported sides our fan base is hardly likely to grow if we are struggling against relegation (as we surely would in the Premier) and getting beaten most weeks. People also moan about travel costs to away games now, and those costs are not going to shrink where we to face trips to places like Canvey Island and Dover.

Surely a shareholder can sell his shares to whoever he wants to and it's none of our illustrious chairman's business.

I think...
it used to be the case that each director on the Board had one/equal vote. But Yioryos apparently had plans to change that, so that each Director's shareholding was reflected in their voting rights. And Yioryos now owns 51% of the shares.
We could look to buy some shares if it would give us the right to see the Club's finances. John Bangs has said in the past that he would be happy to gift or sell his shares to a Supporters Trust. I will probably bring a proposal to the next AGM that the Supporters Club should change to become a Supporters Trust (partly for this very reason).

According to Companies House, our current chairman has a 40% shareholding (as of July 2024):
Paul Forrester - 25 shares
Yioryos Vasilaras - 50 shares
Benjamin Flatt - 19 shares
James Page - 25 shares
John Bangs - 6 shares

Gentlemen and ladies
You have to do what you think is right.
However setting up and new club at non league level is not an easy thing and you may see costs involved.
I personally wish you all the best however
What would you be called ?

I’ve heard Surbiton Town sports club could be available. Although this could be difficult for some fans to get to by public transport and would be a long walk from the nearest station/bus stop. Like any project though we would really have to engage with supporters around what they would want and draw up a list of requirements for a suitable ground.
you may see costs involved.
Yeah unfortunately we won’t have the luxury of £700k to piss up the wall, tell everyone it’s ringfenced for a ground and continually draw down on it because we don’t have a clue how to actually run a football club. No I would like to think things will be done differently Foley!
