I think a more accurate title for this thread would have been “Chelsea’s women’s team hint at move away from Kingsmeadow.” They hope to stage more women’s games at Stamford Bridge as crowds for the WSL grow. However, there is absolutely no indication that Chelsea football club will move away or sell Kingsmeadow and they have numerous age group sides that could make use of the facilities. They don’t need to sell the ground and my understanding is that Chelsea as a club have no plans at all to vacate Kingsmeadow,

I'm sure you are right, the big danger for the local community is if the council sells the freehold to Chelsea,as they are always strapped for cash.

Korky1 you seem to have knowledge of the details of Ks tenancy agreement
What if anything was in place when it ended. I think you said before there was 7 years left
Apologies if I've got that wrong.

No you are correct 7 . Years, all this info is in AFCW s book and I have intimate knowledge of the agreement ,I have been with Jim since he decided to remove Khosla and subsequent results turned out right. I was most surprised there was so little objection to the move from K/M considering the favourable condition we were in. Jim would not have passed the club over if Anderson and Wainwright hadn't promised to continue on the same trajectory and massive investment ,they reneged on everything they promised.

So could it have been the case Korky1,that when the tenancy agreement ended there was no guarantee of it being extended?

Probably not but the idea was to spend those 7 years hopefully. Building a rapport with Chelsea and allowing us to stay longer.

Well I guess we'll never know how that might have worked out Korky1. If it's true money was paid to individuals to terminate tenancy early whilst it could be argued if that was justified it was surely legal.
Whether any other owner/s could have found a new ground/ permanent ground share I don't know . Maybe it might have been better for Kingstonian Football Club to have stayed longer at Kingsmeadow whilst trying to find a permanent home? Mind that ship has sailed and probably been raked over and over with nothing new to add.

Why should we not aspire to get to that level again?

A well run club living within their means should be the aspiration, whatever level that means is achievable

If that’s why we left the ground in the first place: fair play, a real masterplan from the board!

We left the ground because. The board accepted 150000 pounds for the last 7 years of our playing arrangement with AFCW to give a smooth sale to Chelsea, instead of standing their ground and playing those 7 remaining years at K/M with Chelsea as landlords ,which I might. Add was legally their right
