Maybe make some games
Views: 1045
with the move to Ashford Town (think it said Middlesex but not 100% sure), and being right next to Heathrow, who knows maybe I will make a game or two.
Still at least we getting further away from the royal borough. Have we approached MK Dons for a ground share yet?

Awful move
I didn’t mind it as a temporary stop gap because of the state of RPV’s pitch but two or even three years - terrible
It’s also pretty inaccessible via public transport as it includes changes or even walking a distance
And it’s not even in Surrey - it’s Middlesex
They’re going to see even less crowds
The only positive is that it’s 4G so less postponements

Six months ago the Chairman said that we could be in our new ground "within eighteen months". The fact that today's statement didn't even mention a new ground, and the fact that this deal is for 2 or 3 years, speaks volumes.

Agree wholeheartedly, and my post was intended as tongue in cheek. As I think my 1hr30mins travel time is about on a par with travelling from Kingston.
Playing devils advocate for a moment; it seems clear RPV wasn’t going to be an option next t season, casuals is apparently another no, Hampton have said no, not sure of the status of leatherhead and tooting but maybe they are also no’s. So the question then is where could the team have played next season?
Sadly, it does seem that the thousandth cut is rapidly drawing closer.

Apparently RPV was definitely on the table, we turned it down because Ashford is just a much better deal.

I don’t understand why they (and others) would be a “no”
And without being told, we’re guessing
But Ashford is so bad

Prob misunderstood, but thought RPV had said something along the lines of ‘pitch fubar due to too much use, not seeing benefit as less fans that thought turning up, and not liking way things have gone’?
Sure, casuals had made similar comments, though I dont recall.
Anyway, happy to be wrong, or corrected.

and we’re guessing… but if it was the case that it was financial, then an extra £x,xxxx a year would ease that pain I’m sure
we don’t know cos we’re not told… but I won’t believe there wasn’t a more suitable option than Ashford

It might be the case that there’s an increasing reluctance for clubs with grass pitches to enter into ground sharing arrangements. When Corinthian-Casuals ended their arrangement with Epsom & Ewell early they said that there was too much of a toll on the playing surface as a result of the arrangement.

The rainfall we’ve had since the beginning of 2026 and the consequent number of postponements won’t have helped matters.

Hoping Kingston FC go up the leagues quickly and do better with a home ground in the future because Kingstonian are not going anywhere (but further afield)
